canarydan23 4,060 Posted December 27, 2018 (edited) My family hear goal celebrations from the far end of the Plumstead estate if they're in the garden. Edited December 27, 2018 by canarydan23 Typo correction
Year of the tiger 54 Posted December 27, 2018 As very young child heard the goal celebration from Sheffield United game in 59 cup run on Edinburgh Road(off Earlham Road). That's at least 2.5 miles. Think things like wind direction & if it's a still day have a bearing.
Rivvo 257 Posted December 27, 2018 Although presumably now the acoustics are completely different with the ground enclosed by roofed stands?

dylanisabaddog 4,920 Posted December 28, 2018 When David Stringer scored a last minute winner against Crystal Palace in the early 1970s my father heard the noise in Poringland which is probably 4 miles. The crowd was 37,
