Daz Sparks 1,150 Posted December 23, 2018 No, it don't mean jack, and looking back at a load of the champs tables that season was quite tight around the top 8, plenty of others have the top 2 starting to pull away from the chasing pack and that top 2 go on to be promoted.
Petriix 2,834 Posted December 24, 2018 Derby have twice been in the top two at the half way stage and failed to be promoted in the past 5 seasons. It's a reminder that we've only done half the job so far. We've got a slight buffer to third place at the moment but a tough run of fixtures coming up. Still, it's exciting times. TIL 1010 4,722 Posted December 24, 2018 Surely this is the most exciting set of Christmas and New Year fixtures for a long time ?

Graham Paddons Beard 2,424 Posted December 24, 2018 Strange how the stats work. Yesterday during the Villa game, on around 94 minutes, we were definitely going up. I think in the last 10 years or so the team top on Christmas Day have gone up. The team second however is a different matter. In reality of course we just need to get to circa 90 points - 43 points from 23 games . Looking at the fixture list , if we can be up there after the Binners game , we have a batch of "winnable" home games. who knows. Exciting stuff. Or , put it another way, one more win to be safe on 50 points !
