Derby v Forest

Recommended Posts

Another cash of the 'giants'.

The clubs are closer than City is to Yarmouth and given that they are both riding high this will be anther fierce game, if only as far as the fans are concerned.

And with both Sheffields and the three Brum clubs being only 50 mile away there is certainly no lack of local rivalry at stake. in those games.

Chuck in Leeds and Boro and we certainly have plenty of clashes of the heavyweights  - clubs with plenty of top flight experience and regular 20,000 plus crowds.

It's been a while since almost all of these clubs have been on equal footing and slogging it out for promotion. A memorable season for my part - and one where we have a good chance of finishing as one of those promoted clubs.

Forest win for me please. But why on earth are they playing on Monday? Suppression of expected crowd size?

I expect that it fits in with the TV schedule

He who pays the piper etc

Now about to watch it.

Draw or Forest win would do.

Plus a few injuries and red cards etc😀

This game confirms why I'm much happier with Pukki than Grabban up front, but still wish he'd score one of these chances.

A bit of old fashioned football. Head tennis, long balls, littered with fouls. Grabban closest to scoring. More effort than skill.

Well that's an hour gone and very little sign of a patient possession game. Two or three passes then they go long. Very different to our style.

Opening up a bit now.

Forest looked the neater side and came closest but both keepers made good saves. I don't think either team look anywhere good enough for automatic.

Thought Derby looked poor.  The only quality player was Wilson and he was involved in most of their good stuff. Forest seemed to be more cohesive but lacked quality in the attacking third. They also gave the ball away a lot and would have been punished against a better side.  Overall, a pretty even game and a good result for us.

Lolley looks a handful and Lewis will need a hand to keep him quiet.

Derby are heavily reliant on their loanees. A bang average side without them.

Good result. Always better to have two points distributed instead of three.

Next up ... Leeds at Villa on Sunday. Home win please.

Rotherham, Reading, Ipswich, on paper you have no chance v WBA, Middlesbrough, Sheff Utd, but it's a home game and a chance for pre-Christmas glory! Bristol, QPR you know that on your day you can get a result at Derby, Forest - so good luck to you all!

Without seeing them play it's difficult to judge but the table suggests that there isn't a  Team running away with it or even a late comer to push through the pack and challenge the top two. Happy days.

Great result. Derby should have had a pen though and they also should have had 2 players sent off, one for an elbow and the other for a 2 footed studs up lunge ( he did get the ball)

Not a lot of quality on show. Might be down to it being a derby, but I don't think we have anything to fear from either of these teams on that display. Obviously we will still need to work hard to beat them, we struggled against Bolton, Rotherham and Millwall so we mustn't be complacent, but I don't think they're on the same level as us, Leeds, West Brom or even Sheffield Utd. I'm more worried about the Blackburn game.

Worth remembering how our derby performance at Portman Road was. Sometimes derby's are the worst game of 'football'

Frankie Boy is turning out to be no better than any other Manager they've had over the last few years. Shame really, the media just love him.
