Klose Injury

Recommended Posts

Yes, he said he everybody at the club is confident that there is no problem. He added that it was a bruised knee, and that the bruise must have affected a nerve, a scan in the week was good and that there was no need for concern.

Okay - thanks Daz. Thought Godfrey did very well yesterday considering he's hardly played this season and only came into the starting eleven at very late notice, but there were times when we missed Klose's aerial dominance when Bolton were pumping high balls into our box.

How did he bruise a knee in the warm up ?

He bruised it in training in the week, but right up to naming the team Klose was deemed fit, it was in the warm up he said he couldn't jump or sprint 100%, so Godfrey was thrown in late on.

Yep from the highlights that was clearly an issue for both goals, but I guess you can’t expect to have that sort of injury problem without an impact.

Great to see Godfrey get a run out in the league - good for his experience - and coming out on top in what proved a tough match will help him in future matches.  We had such a young and relatively inexperienced defence out there yesterday, particularly on the left, there were bound to be one or two issues....but we won the match.

Klose is a big deal of a player to not have in the team, especially at the last minute, but we managed it and that can only be good, going forwards. Quality in the squad through and through.

he was limping badly when he came on the pitch at the end,  maybe had his knee strapped up tho, I assume he would have been advised not to come on the pitch if it was that bad

Our back 4 without Klose was pretty short on experience, with fewer than 100 Champs starts between them and an average age of a little over 20.  They did wobble a bit under the high balls up to an experienced front line, so it will have been a good lesson for them!

When you think we've had the likes of McClean, Thompson, Hanley etc, out for the majority of the season, joined in last few weeks by Leitner then Klose yesterday, makes one appreciate that, thank goodness, we have a squad of decent depth and, more importantly, of confidence, momentum and togetherness, enough to keep winning.

Happily, looks like Klose doesnt have a serious injury and with Hanley just about fully fit  now also, we should be ok defensively.

We couldn’t possibly have had as many injuries as Leeds have or we would have to put inexperienced youngsters in the team.Oh hold on perhaps the pundits forgot to look at how we are coping without lots of our injured players.😉

He was in a suit when he came on the pitch at the end, so i suspect he was just named as a sub and wouldn't have come on.  Presumably we weren't allowed to swap Hanley for him on the bench after the team sheet had been handed in.

Got confidence in Zimmerman and Godfrey and think they will form a good partnership the more they play together but we really would struggle if we lost one of them with Christmas coming up. Hopefully this will be the last game down to two fit centre halves.
