Rock The Boat 1,329 Posted December 3, 2018 As long as we get paired up with another team I'll be happy. Hate to be that single ball rolling around in an otherwise empty bag.
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted December 3, 2018 Pompey at home!
Surfer 1,547 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) So much for my Cardiff prediction ... the Binners get Accrington Stanley away... a preview of their league match next year perhaps? And Pompey for us! Now please have them play in their traditional blue / white / red strip, none of this change strip nonsense... Edited December 3, 2018 by Surfer
Capt. Pants 4,224 Posted December 3, 2018 One of the most boring 3rd Round draws ever. At least we can put the 2nd/3rd string out.
Bill 1,788 Posted December 3, 2018 Be a great game Pompey will sell out their allocation and will certainly add to the atmosphere and has not been mentioned on the tellybox it is the top of the Championship v the top of League 1 (as it stands)
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,748 Posted December 3, 2018 Should be a good tie between 2 sides (currently) top of their leagues....whether we still both will be by then, who knows?... and if we are may bring about the question of one/both sides fielding different teams with a eye on the league. I would still expect Pompey to bring a sizable following
......and Smith must score. 1,341 Posted December 3, 2018 Not of any great interest. Would have preferred any new away ground but Portsmouth will sell their allocation so should be a decent atmosphere at least.

I would like someone like Portsmouth or Peterborough at home. Someone who would bring a big noisy following and play their first eleven. Like Luton but with a positive outcome 🙄 Portsmouth at home. Wish I'd had a bet now......

TIL 1010 4,737 Posted December 3, 2018 They will certainly take the full allocation which is just over 4,000 at Carrow Road.

Nope, lets get stuck into what should be a cracking game Two teams on top form, 4000 passionate and noisy away fans A proper cup tie Which may get switched as there's not too many 'attractive' other ties bar a couple of possible giant killings
Chelm Canary 404 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) There will be 90 minutes of noise from the away stand. I once sat with the pompey fans for Colchester v Portsmouth a few years back. If they aren't singing, they're humming something. Awesome support. EDIT: I say I sat with them, but there wasn't the opportunity to sit once. Capt. Pants 4,224 Posted December 3, 2018 A week later we are away to WBA, a far more important game. A nice draw for Pompey and they will sell out their allocation no doubt. Important not to risk any key players and give some minutes on the pitch for the subs.

If it is I take back any reservations about progressing in this competition that I may have mentioned above. Not sure. Semi final winners and final losers are both listed as getting 1.8m so it could be a one off but if thats the case why list both?
Bill 1,788 Posted December 3, 2018 my understanding is that prize mony that is listed is paid , as listed, for each round so the £1,8m for winning the semi final is a separate amount and not what has been accumulated over the previous rounds so beating Pompey would generate a fair bit with the gate money added, more so if we then get a decent draw in the following round
nutty nigel 7,527 Posted December 4, 2018 Should be cheap for families. Could even be kids for a quid. Great draw for those with kids or grandkids 🙃⚽👍
splendidrush 700 Posted December 4, 2018 It was mentioned on TWTD that Accrington have the smallest ground in the League, like a home game then.
