Bill 1,788 Posted November 3, 2018 The Canaries snuggly tucked up in the master bedroom for now with the binners down the coal shute sing a long to the chorus ! ! !
Bill 1,788 Posted November 3, 2018 A third of the season and already 3 times the points and I'm not sure if we have been top when they were bottom this far into the season God, it must hurt the farmhands to not ony see the table but recognise there is now as much chance of us going up as there is them going down yep, there's a long way to go but five points adrift means they are certainly bottom until they play West Brom on the 23rd of this months for us, well all we can do is keep picking up the points
A Load of Squit 4,523 Posted November 3, 2018 The Championship is an East Anglian sandwich, sweet on the top, sour on the bottom and a filling of hopefuls.
Bill 1,788 Posted November 3, 2018 Wasn't it supposed to be the other way round ? ps Mind the Gap................... 5 points from 23rd and less than 15,000 farmhands including all ST's
Canary73 105 Posted November 4, 2018 Thing is they are in a mini spell of games against teams they need to make ground on: Millwall (L 0-3), PNE (Scraped 1-1 playing against 10 men and no keeper) with Reading away to come. Lose that and Reading go 8 clear of them with a much superior GD. As someone else has posted, their pre Xmas fixtures are amongst the toughest run of fixtures. Maybe we should resurrect the relegation countdown clock - for them....
Bill 1,788 Posted November 5, 2018 funny fact of the day No 94 the binners have had more managers than they have had home wins in the whole of 2018
splendidrush 687 Posted November 5, 2018 It'll be interesting how this pans out but would it be better to see them survive, do a Wigan and watch attendances continue to fall year on year, revenue all but dry up, while seeing their squad continue to deteriorate. Or relegation this year with Lambert already installed to make a big statement in League One rekindling interest among the Suffolk faithful and the momentum it could create. Sooty57 356 Posted November 5, 2018 Just because we have a sizeable German contingent in the club nowadays, there is no need to indulge in such exaggerated levels of schadenfreude (look it up if you don't know the meaning). Given their undoubtedly superior history to almost every club in the country, with the possible exception of Aston Villa and Leeds, Ipswich Town's fans must be going through agonies as they witness the total collapse of their once mighty club. They are after all our neighbours, and we should afford them a little more empathy. I have several friends and acquaintances who are true blue Ipswich supporters (of course, they rarely go to games any more), and I prefer to treat them with compassion, offering them hope with sympathetic offerings such as: "You've got yourself a good manager there. Your home form will improve dramatically - he's never lost a game at Portman Road" "I'm sure you will soon start getting the wins.... it's much easier to score points in League 1" "At least you will still have the local derby to look forward to.... and Colchester is so much closer" So please, let's all try and give comfort to their fans as they plummet into League 1, just as they did to us a few short years ago.
