1 point off 6 against millwall isn't good enough

Recommended Posts

Millwall - bottom of league, no home win before last

night, no league win since september - they still manage to take 4

points to our 1.

How? Dismal diamond and asking players to play out of position at home.

Away, city matched millwall according to huckerby (who is back to

form), so in that case city underperfomed if you compare squads -

according to adams we never passed and played football, the game was

scrappy all night and suited millwall, both keepers had little to do.

Why? the millwall game came too soon after saturday''s match, where 5

players where starting matches after injury/layoffs. on Sat, City had 2

players effectively making seasonal debuts, wright & dicko, hughes

and thorne were playing first 90 mins after injuries and the way safs

played sat and last night, you be forgiven for thinking he was playing

with aid of a painkilling injection. Also, Ashton had unusally quiet

game so was he fully fit?

That said, millwall had tough match on sat against s.utd, they had

injuries to the squad, but they still played high tempo for 90 mins -

city players mounted no real response to the millwall goal. Is worthy

overtraining the players? did they rest enough after the luton match?

And even more excuses - the players we tired, lot''s of them had just come back from injury, 2 players making seasonal debuts, game came too soon after Saturdays match - keep talking like that Lucky Green Trainers and you could be in line to be the new Manager.

A couple of other points -

Ashton had unusally quiet game so was he fully fit? - unusually quiete ? I thought he was just as quiet as he''s been all season.

Huckerby is back to form - what form is that then, falling over and being caught off side ?

Both keepers had little to do - except that ours had to pick the ball out of the back of the net, theirs didn''t.

Is worthy overtraining the players? - over training ? - if they trained 24 hours a day it wouldn''t be enough for this lot.

Did they rest enough after the luton match? - rest ? How much rest do they need after playing 90 minutes football. They had over 3 days rest and before that they had two weeks off. More than enough for what are supposed to be young fit athletes.
