This forum is way out of   line !   the moderators  come and go at erratic times ,  nobody knows if , or when ,  their posts will  be uploaded  ,  can we have the roster [ if there is one ] of the moderators  presence on this forum ?  [:@]

Come off it sheded, you moderate then!

These people have proper jobs to do as well as dealing with however

many hundered posts a day we all stick on here. I can''t imagine it''s

the most thrilling job in the world.

Yes, there were quite a few of them late this afternoon - and then the site (and a couple

of others around the group) became unavailable, and eventually I went

home... and now they''re back up, but I don''t know what the problems have

been.

Generally it''s about Mon-Sat 8am-8pm, Sat 10am-6pm and varies on Sun

varies (just one person in at weekends). Other times are voluntary -

Sat evening cover is subject to end-of-week partying arrangements, so

can vary quite a bit. Whoever''s on forums duty in the office isn''t

solely dedicated to fourms - there is plenty more work keeping us busy.

As said recently in another thread, we are looking at loosening things

up, but it is subject to various approvals so isn''t guaranteed to

happen.

I used to have a lot of problems with the old board, but this one''s

been fine. I open it then right-click in the frame and select ''This

Frame'', then ''open in new window''. This seems to improve the response

time (don''t know why).

I don''t know if this has been said before (been away for a few days

over the changeover of boards), but at least this one gives me full

functionality in Mozilla Firefox - emoticons, bold italics etc.

Also, I missed the message preview I used to get when I hovered my

mouse over the title - then I found the option under ''edit my details''

to turn it back on! All-in-all this has been a success for me, well

done web team.

On the other hand, I have no idea what the people who pay for this

board are thinking with the Mickey Mouse forum software they use.

Every other forum I visit with similar numbers uses Vbulletin, there

must be a reason for that? (other than it looks 1000% better)

I use Firefox too (as do most people who realise IE isn''t the only web

browser on earth) and it doesn''t seem to get along with this. Works

fine with VB.

[<:o)]   I think Ive had about every system thats going !  even " Red hot ant "  until they sailed away into the sunset,   leaving thousands  of  subscribers  high and dry  .....

Now , I use NTL ,  a company I couldn`t stand at one time  , but they got their act together  ,  and  they  filter a lot of garbage  and virii  out  , have a free tech support ,  broadband  , sky packages   et al ,    I have win xp , use the NTL browser exclusively   .... keep life simple eh ?
