I like the new boards, the layout seems to be much cleaner and easier

to follow, however I have also having that annoying problem of whenever

I move from page to page it always goes to the bottom of the page.

OS: Mac OS X 10.4.3

Browser: Firefox 1.0.6

Also I think the post button on the reply page is too small, I just

scrolled up and down 3 times to find it. Compared to those cr*p smileys

(which you can get rid of in my book) that button is not very obvious.

Other than that fantastic job: BTW what does all this run on? I seem to

remember the last site ran on Win 2000 server and whatever the MS

server is, have you thought about upgrading to a Linux/Apache system?

Cheers,

Eldrich

Mac OSX 10.4.3

Safari Browser

The Back button / going to the bottom of the page thing is happening here too.

Also the font is one step higher, but I just take it down when I come on the site.

Use Apache!

And another thing

When you refresh the front "Have Your Say" page to see if there any new messages it takes you back to the main Forum page so you have to go though the whole process again to get to the "Have Your Say" page

A curse of using frames! Right click within the forum area and do a This Frame >

Reload/Refresh
your browser supports it; if not follow the small

pink links at the top of the page, where it says:

and click on the Norwich City - ... (Have Your Say) one

Dont know if this has been reported already but I can''t see the right hand side of the screen on some messages - i seem to lose a word on each line of the messages that I am reading.Very irritating having to guess what each word is.

I''ve noticed that too! You can move the frame of the box to read what is on the right, but you can''t see who posted the message!

Why does this happen?

How can you see all it at the same time?!

I have just found the function where you can hover your mouse over the topic and see the first few lines of the post.  If you click on your username at the top and go down to "enable post mouse-over topic" and click yes, it works

Thanks DD,

I knew I''d seen it somewhere - glad I wasn''t as wrong as I thought! Now

all it needs to do is show about three or four times as much text.

That''s also reminded me I can turn off those emoticons on the post

editing/replying page - this enables the post/reply page to finish

loading much faster.

Hi there,

To answer your queries - this site''s running ASP.NET 1.1, on Win2000 server / IIS5, with a SQL Server 2000 database running on Windows 2003 Server. We''re in the process of evaluating ASP.NET 2.0, and planning a migration to Windows 2003 Server / IIS6.

We''ve looked at the idea of Apache/Linux, but at this point we have a substantial investement in Microsoft technologies and given the rich development environment support in the form of Visual Studio to be completely honest there would be little benefit in switching technologies. We are however looking at open source technologies in other areas - the MySQL database is doing great things at the moment and has a lot of potential, and we''re considering deploying a Linux/Solaris file server.

Can someone from the Pinkun please realise that the whole world doesn''t use Internet Explorer.  Since the changes, the site is an absolute mess in Netscape and that''s only if it works at all.

Hi Vince

It''s quite amusing that this thread is being added to tonight considering what has happened on the pitch, but something about the board puzzles me, why can''t we see who is active or on line anymore.  I used to like seeing who was looking in, or posting, is this feature now not available because you have changed to the new look board?

Not a complaint as such, just wanted to know.

We do have that feature but it revealed too much information (i.e. all

new members to our login system) so we''ve switched it off for now.

There is also a small online status indicator next to people''s names in

their posts (a small grey globe) - but we had to tinker with something

connected with that and it seems it doesn''t work now.

Well the ''new'' new board is much much better, thumbs up from me.

Layout is clearer, text is normal size, looks smooth, seems to work fine.

Top marks.
Why has the ''subscribe to this topic'' option gone when posting a message to a thread ?
Go to http://new.pinkun.com/cs/user/EditProfile.aspx (the Edit Your Details <name> bit at the top of every page)

Down the bottom there is Enable Email Notifications of replies to your posts -- pick Yes

You can also click the Notify button at the top of each messages page to get alerts about new posts to a particular thread. Clicking again will turn it off.
