AJ 1,218 Posted November 18, 2005 with a new board comes some technical hitches.........although the change over has been pretty smooth, so congratulations pinkun team
Canary Boy 0 Posted November 18, 2005 I don''t like it either....much prefered the old one.Not too keen on the page where you change your personal details as well.
eldrich canary 0 Posted November 19, 2005 I like the new boards, the layout seems to be much cleaner and easierto follow, however I have also having that annoying problem of wheneverI move from page to page it always goes to the bottom of the page.OS: Mac OS X 10.4.3Browser: Firefox 1.0.6Also I think the post button on the reply page is too small, I justscrolled up and down 3 times to find it. Compared to those cr*p smileys(which you can get rid of in my book) that button is not very obvious.Other than that fantastic job: BTW what does all this run on? I seem toremember the last site ran on Win 2000 server and whatever the MSserver is, have you thought about upgrading to a Linux/Apache system?Cheers,Eldrich

Making Plans 929 Posted November 19, 2005 And another thingWhen you refresh the front "Have Your Say" page to see if there any new messages it takes you back to the main Forum page so you have to go though the whole process again to get to the "Have Your Say" page

Right click within the forum area and do a This Frame >Reload/Refresh your browser supports it; if not follow the smallpink links at the top of the page, where it says:pink''un » Norwich City » Norwich City - ... » Re: Awful new message boards!.and click on the Norwich City - ... sheded 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Works for me ! different puters .. different settings , just a question of slight adjustments , and getting used to the new format [6]
Maverick 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Dont know if this has been reported already but I can''t see the right hand side of the screen on some messages - i seem to lose a word on each line of the messages that I am reading.Very irritating having to guess what each word is.
Cosmic Twin 180 Posted November 20, 2005 I''ve noticed that too! You can move the frame of the box to read what is on the right, but you can''t see who posted the message! Why does this happen? How can you see all it at the same time?!
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Sorry to bring this up again, I''ve been away for a couple of days. I''m using XP and getting the page at the bottom page. Is there any way I can change it?
Web Team - Vince 0 Posted November 22, 2005 It''s because of frames. The solution for now is to use the link to the page in the frame, which is http://new.pinkun.com/cs/forums/
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted November 22, 2005 I have just found the function where you can hover your mouse over the topic and see the first few lines of the post. If you click on your username at the top and go down to "enable post mouse-over topic" and click yes, it works
Web Team - Vince 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Thanks DD,I knew I''d seen it somewhere - glad I wasn''t as wrong as I thought! Nowall it needs to do is show about three or four times as much text. That''s also reminded me I can turn off those emoticons on the postediting/replying page - this enables the post/reply page to finishloading much faster. Tim Stephenson (Archant IS) 0 Posted November 22, 2005
Other than that fantastic job: BTW what does all this run on? I seem to remember the last site ran on Win 2000 server and whatever the MS server is, have you thought about upgrading to a Linux/Apache system?
Hi there,To answer your queries - this site''s running ASP.NET 1.1, on Win2000 server / IIS5, with a SQL Server 2000 database running on Windows 2003 Server. We''re in the process of evaluating ASP.NET 2.0, and planning a migration to Windows 2003 Server / IIS6.We''ve looked at the idea of Apache/Linux, but at this point we have a substantial investement in Microsoft technologies and given the rich development environment support in the form of Visual Studio to be completely honest there would be little benefit in switching technologies. We are however looking at open source technologies in other areas - the MySQL database is doing great things at the moment and has a lot of potential, and we''re considering deploying a Linux/Solaris file server. Scot-e-dog 34 Posted November 22, 2005 Can someone from the Pinkun please realise that the whole world doesn''t use Internet Explorer. Since the changes, the site is an absolute mess in Netscape and that''s only if it works at all.
Web Team - Vince 0 Posted November 22, 2005 I''m using Firefox right now... at work and at home.Which version of Netscape?

gazzathegreat 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Hi VinceIt''s quite amusing that this thread is being added to tonight considering what has happened on the pitch, but something about the board puzzles me, why can''t we see who is active or on line anymore. I used to like seeing who was looking in, or posting, is this feature now not available because you have changed to the new look board? Not a complaint as such, just wanted to know.
Web Team - Vince 0 Posted November 23, 2005 We do have that feature but it revealed too much information (i.e. allnew members to our login system) so we''ve switched it off for now. There is also a small online status indicator next to people''s names intheir posts (a small grey globe) - but we had to tinker with somethingconnected with that and it seems it doesn''t work now.
