Any further lack of action will undo all the good of the last few years. They know what they have to do, but I don''t think they''ve the balls (literally) to do it. The decline is spiralling out of control. Hoping that things will right themselves by inaction on their part is plain, crass, negligent and wilful stupidity.

After this performance, you have to ask whether a new manager would make much difference! Some old and some new transfer acquisitions really don''t seem to have it, and there seems to be no confidence.

The Manager said that we have to get back to basics. He''s right, but we have to get back to basic skills which were lacking. Control, passing, and above all shooting, were all sadly lacking. We had more possession, but lacked the skill to open an average but well organised defence, and we forced no demanding saves from their goalkeeper for all our huffing and puffing.

It may be that we must be content to avoid relegation, and start building again with money from selling Ashton. But it would have to be under a new manager!!
