When this is over, Trump will turn his wrath on China.

He's already started down that path. The Irony / idiocy is on the one hand he's "good friends" with the President (dictator) Xi, on the other hand the tariffs he imposed on China caused them to refocus their exports of critical medical supplies to other parts of the world.

His chief trade negotiator Navarro is apparently still arguing for more sanctions on China as "punishment" - then again Navarro is another one of those people whom you can say - he's got a hammer and every problem looks like a nail. Or the only solutions Republicans ever propose  is cutting regulations and top rate taxes, and for Navarro lets go to economic war with China.

And firing up the anti-immigrant go-to deflection as well.... unless he means illegal Chinese immigrants, but his wall doesn't do anything about that ...

Meanwhile, the main problem with President Trump is not that he knows virtually nothing (that is obvious) but that he hires people who know virtually nothing. Even Ronald Reagan and George Bush hired very capable people - with one or two exceptions - this guy fires everyone who is capable and put idiots in charge, which is why they can't get anything done, unless others do it for them - like the Senate or Supreme Court both of which have narrow, but sufficient, Republican majorities.

Meanwhile the shilling and cult of personality continues on Murdoch's Fox "News".

So what's going to happen here is a massive run on supplies of this particular drug from the Fox audience... and corresponding demands from Republican lawmakers across the country two mandate its use; when what's going on is literally clutching at straws. People would be better off having a Gin and Tonic a day.

At least that would be mildly pleasant and would help UK exports.

The utter chaos continues ... attacking the press because HE HAS NO ANSWERS.

Trump says "he's not hearing it"  that people can't get tested, Fauci acknowledges that people can't get tested, and VP Pence says "we are making incredible progress"

Meanwhile ..  the press conference of New York State Governor Andre Cuomo.

Straight talk, no BS, says unpopular actions are HIS responsibility and his alone. 👍

Things are going to get extremely messy on the next 2 weeks in the US. It's a disaster you can see coming a long way off.

Florida is trending like Italy ... there is a strong trend of Republican led States doing almost nothing and Democrat led States aggressively imposing restaurant and bar closures to shelter in place restrictions.

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article241372271.html

This map shows the "RELATIVE" cases of virus like symptoms v's what's expected at this time of the year... Florida has just hosted Spring Break for students from across the country with packed beaches and also has a very high percentage of retirees in its population; so uniquely vulnerable in that sense. Even more vulnerable than New York which is the current hot spot.

California, perhaps because of its restrictions, seems not as bad off as 2 weeks ago. Much of the most populated areas of the state have been in some form of lockdown for approximately a week now. And there is a trend in the data that correlates with that - caution correlation is not causation.

So quite a day in the Senate. These actions seem like a last power grab of a Republican Party that knows it's going to get wiped out in the November Elections so they are just going to take whatever they can now.

However, four Republican Senators have either tested positive, or got into isolation so....

Stupid does as stupid is... ???? Rand Paul was the only Senator to vote against the CoronaVirus Relief Bill last week.... I will refrain from the Karma comments, as he's always voted like that.....

Then the President's comment. Of course Romney was the only Republican who voted against the President in the impeachment trial.... Donald being classy as always.

Meanwhile in the Senate. The Republican pitty party continues. The proposal to give a massive corporate give away including $500Bn that Donald Trump's administration can give to whomever they want, and not disclose to whom they are giving it for six months (i.e after the November election) creating a massive slush fund of corruption and bribery, has run into a wall of Democratic NO votes. So cue the false outrage....

As for "we don't have another minute to wait - the Senate went on a three day recess last weekend.

Mitch McConnell - of the $1.5Trillion corporate tax give away and RWNJ judges fame.

Susan Collins - she of "I am troubled by.... " and then votes for every outrageous RWNJ proposal.

And the Democrat leader Shumer explaining why the proposal isn't going to pass

Here we go again, it's all about how great Trump is doing...and how it's everyone else's fault.

re the ventilators claim the Federal Government sent 400, from a stockpile of 20,000.

But apparently it's the Governor of New York's fault for not buying more ventilators 2 YEARS AGO

It’s the human equivalent of the Aussie fires, it’s got hold in NY as it has in Northern Italy.

So you are ok that Cuomo is scouring the globe and using his economic privilege to buy up ventilators from other countries that need them. But when Trump wants to buy chemicals you get all ar sy about it. Time to chill, Surfer.

But,but Hilary's emails!!

I don't see what that has to do with anything?! If Trump decides to relax the restrictions then that spike will duplicate all over the country.

Trump is OK when he can bullshine his way through life. Now he is dealing with something he cannot bluster about. And when put on the spot he sounds even more ridiculous than he ever has. And as Johnson has found out, he  virus is a long time in politics.

I’ll just let that pathetic comment go RTB. The only reason this is about politics, is because politics is about policies. And it’s clear that the leader of the US Federal Government has no policies and no idea what he’s doing; but by his incompetence or mendacity is actively harming the State government actions to mitigate this evolving disaster.

The Feds are not centrally buying anything, not ordering manufacturing to build up critical supplies, not preventing price gouging etc etc.

So Governors and Congress are taking the lead and trying to ignore his constant BS and lying - unfortunately he is the President so he can control a large part of the country’s resources and who knows if selective denial of aid to blue Democratic led  States and provision of aid to red Republican led States is his end game?

Those who hate the guy, do so for a reason. Many of us wish him well, because he’s the President and we want him to succeed as that means America succeeds. But he is at the end of the day a con man. Always has been, probably always will be.

The fact is of the top ten cities in America six have Democratic Governors of their State. Of the four that do not, three are in the same State - Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, plus Pheonix. Of those four cities, three have Democratic Party mayors and none have a Republican Party mayor.

So this is not Democrats out to get Trump, it's Governors begging the President to do his job.

Here we go again - it's all a hoax to prevent "me" from being re-elected..... this was in answer to a question of why re-open for business at Easter, when the medical staff advise against it.
