President Trump

Another reason Republican candidates for Senate are in trouble is their CoronaVirus response. It’s not just the President who is acting as if the virus is not real, several of the Republican governors continue to botch their State’s response, and Republican Senators are saying nothing publicly about the twin crisis of healthcare and jobs Coronavirus has caused. So expect their numbers to get even worse once the adverts reminding voters that these Senators have done nothing, said nothing, start to air in September.

As important as appointing conservative judges are to right leaning independents and all Republican voters, if grandma dies, dad loses his job or Jimmy can’t go to school then they won’t get cast their vote for someone who could have helped but didn’t.

There is a thought that many US voters split their votes so as to ensure (hope) that no party has absolute control

However I think in this election Trump is so toxic that a lot of Republicans will hold their nose and vote Democrat, or simply not vote at all.

Whereas the other side seems to be people saying how they voted Obama, skipped Hilary but will definitely vote this time to remove Trump.

And that is going to be the message - get rid of Trump

Now he is saying that the CDC are lying and his ex cronies, Fox News are lying and not to believe what they say yet posts a video when Fox praises him for commuting Stone.

These are the actions of someone unfit for any public office.

Think a tad deeper, Grandad 🙃

It's true they often do that Bill.  But I sense this year is different. He's really lost the plot, and voters have come to understand how the rest of the world sees America under this President. The CoronaVirus fiasco is the straw that broke the camel's back. And he won't quit digging his own political grave - witness today for another example. And also trying to blame Biden for the testing shortfalls.

Trump has been claiming that his popularity and poll ratings have been climbing

however it was pointed out to him that it is not as simple as just turning the charts the up side down

Think a tad deeper, Grandad

Please don't try and tell me there is some subliminal reason for his nonsense.

Why don't you give up? You had your day in the sun with the Brexit result (we'll wait and see about the outcome) but you are back in the shade with this one.

Scary figures for Trump as the slide continues

Safe seats

  • Biden  198
  • Trump 115

add most likely to win seats

  • Biden 308
  • Trump 132

so, if Trump won all of the 'undecided' 98 seats

it would still leave him well short (230) of the 270 needed for a majority

today’s poll

To be fair, the President has only just started his advertising campaigns...... so maybe those polls with change.

The self proclaimed  "Law and Order" President is selling the storyline that nobody will be safe under Joe Biden.

As some have pointed out, this is recent footage, so this projection is actually happening under Donald Trump

And as we have discussed before, the Presidents team believe that chaos in the streets will HELP them not hurt.

So they, and Fox News, are peddling this fantastical story that American cities are on fire and only Trump can save us.

This second clip, is a prelude to action "promised/ threatened" to happen next week (we'll see what really happens)

As stated, the slide continues by the week... even the day

"Joe Biden has opened up his biggest poll lead over Donald Trump since securing the nomination, with a new nationwide survey showing him with a 15-point advantage in the race for the White House.

Registered voters back the former vice president over the incumbent 52 – 37 per cent, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released on Wednesday. The same poll one month ago gave Mr Biden a lead of eight points, 49 – 41 per cent."

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/joe-biden-poll-latest-donald-trump-approval-rating-independents-quinnipiac-a9621546.html

there is no way back from this

polls that (as in the UK) move around a bit always suggest that there could be a late spurt for one side or the other

but a slow continuous slide points to only one result

how big will Biden's win be ?

In the middle of a pandemic and economic implosion, this is what the minority leader of the House is focused on

i.e. Kevin is leader of the Republican Party in the House. Note the "mob's" and "restore order" projection again.

It rather reminds me of the sick spectacle of seeing German soldiers being hanged from lamp posts as 'cowards'in the last few weeks of WW2 by SS soldiers

Utterly  meaningless in the context of what was happening around them - and carried iout with no sense of irony that these soldiers were hunting deserters, not fighting themselves.

The US is suffering the worst death rate from the virus, jobs are being lost by the hundred thousand and here is this nutter bleating about statues while his leader promotes baked beans.

No more clear evidence is needed that they have not the slightest idea of what to do, and like our government, not that bothered either

To paraphrase ............ 'who the gods wish to destroy they first make totally incompetent'

This should be free to read this ( yes, it is an opinion piece ) without a subscription i.e it is free to read at least in the US.

In sum, the price of appealing so heavily to his far-right, white, evangelical and mostly male base is that Trump has alienated everyone else.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/07/16/here-are-reasons-trumps-losing-so-badly/

it's free to read in the UK if you use the Firefox add on, Bypass Paywalls

which allow you to read up on a wide ranch of opinions, and well researched and written articles

This is clearly more than a trend. We will see what they come up with next week, but what's happening in Portland, Oregon is very disturbing... the Governor has not requested their help, this is the Federal Government "taking the initiative" and probably violating the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

A reminder that Joe Scarborough is a former Republican Congressman.

Trumpo will need to come up with something

His approval/disapproval rating is now showing a 15 point negative gap

and voting gives Biden 50%, Trump 40%

that voting would give Biden a huge majority in the lower house

I didn't realise that Scavino, Trumps twitter and speech writer had no other qualifications for WH Communications Director than he managed one of Trump's golf courses.
