Proud Boys wanted to incite ‘normies’ at Capitol riot to ‘smash some pigs to dust’, court filings claim

They also included some of Nordean’s social media posts to show how he had prepared during the weeks before the riot. “We tried playing nice and by the rules, now you will deal with the monster you created,” Nordean wrote on November 27, according to court filings.

“The spirit of 1776 has resurfaced and has created groups like the Proudboys and we will not be extinguished.

“We will grow like the flame that fuels us and spread like love that guides us. We are unstoppable, unrelenting and now....unforgiving.”

Nordean is among 16 Proud Boys currently facing charges related to the violence at the Capitol.

Of course, we all know it wasn't Trump supporters but really those naughty antifa guys, who are so devious that none of them got arrested.

The obnoxious MTG is going to prove much more of a problem for the GOP than the Democrats. Indeed, she's going to bring a lot of moderate Republican votes over to the Democrats

Don't discount "I'll carry my gun anywhere I want" Rep. Lauren Boebert in that race to the bottom.

Meanwhile rabble rousing Senators Cruz and Cotton continue to object to the confirmation of Judge Merrick Garland as the new US Attorney General - almost 6 weeks into the Biden administration.... now quite apart from their own "issues" around Jan 06 why could that be?

Anyone who wants to know how it has come to pass that the poster children of the Republican party are dangerous idiots such as Greene and Boebert should read Susan Jacoby's frightening The Age of American Unreason, published back in 2008.

It is not overtly a party-political book, and nowhere does Trump get a mention, but it analyses the descent into know-nothingness that created the climate for the GoP's current insanity.

Spot on! An awful lot had to happen in the US for it to become even remotely possible that a monstrous liar and crook like Trump would stand a chance of becoming president.

And the UK is clearly on the same path.... it's not too late to turn around. But people have to care about and demand the truth from their neighbors, their political leaders and media.

Sadly that's very true. Johnson is just a "diddy Donald" with a similar "diddy Donald" history of lying, deception, and moral degeneracy. When traditional right-wing thinkers of the likes of Max Hastings and Peter Oborne describe him as "totally unfit to govern" they merely echo what many of the same timbre in the US said of Trump. Yet there he is in power at the head of a party that putatively stands for traditional conservative values, just like Trump and the GOP. And just like the GOP and Trump the Conservative Party found it possible to ignore its traditional values to embrace a populist rhetoric that promised power without any moral scruple or integrity. And just like the GOP the Tory Party now finds its constituencies being usurped by far-right infiltrators from the likes of UKIP and the BNP etc. One can only hope that the experience of power without principle that led record numbers of Americans to vote Trump out will be repeated in the UK in the case of our "diddy Donald".

Absolutely love Psaki. She takes questions and answers them brilliantly. Wipes the floor with Trump's sad dollies who only managed to master the bad tempered flounce from the room.

Meanwhile, Republican Senators continue to block the Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General appointment confirmations (this is on top of voting against every aspect of the Covid recovery Bill, but that is just "economic priorities") blocking the people who run the "law and order" department is pretty unusual for the self-styled  "Law and Order Party"  Why?

"You couldn't make it up" is rapidly becoming the most over-used phrase when discussing the GOP, but you really couldn't make this up:

Perhaps somebody should have told her you cannot get in because the builders are in.

Former Neo-Na*zi recruiter says Fox News has ‘radicalised so many Americans’

Speaking on CNN, ex-Neo-Na*zi recruiter Frank Meeink warned of the growing problem of domestic terrorism in the US following January’s deadly Capitol riots.

Asked what was driving this extremism, Meeink told presenter Pamela Brown: “It’s fear and narcissism and that fake patriotism that’s just nationalism wrapped up again with worshipping an idol.

“Fox News has completely radicalised so many Americans. If you look at Fox News and then you compare that to hate radio from Rwanda, and what started that civil war, there’s comparisons there.

“We have to know that a lot of our fellow Americans, fellow children of God, have been radicalised by a network of news that, as a former radical, I can tell you, from watching Fox News all day, I can show you where they’re saying radical stuff that I used to say.”

So the Hunter Biden story was a Russian plant that Republican Senators and Trump administration officials went along with and lied about it - OK.

What a surprise.

Nope, he is on remand in our heads until brought to court and fully held to account for his actions. Boy oh boy are you stupid. But we knew that already, odious fool.

If you think we are going to miss out on opportunity to point out what an utterly obsequious and gullible buffoon you have been, and continue to be, in supporting the fat orange lying toad, then think again. So much is going to come out about Trumpski's lying, corruption, and crimminal behaviour. We are going to have great fun in reporting every little detail and pointing out your stupidity in supporting such an egregious oaf. Better rub some white spirit on your skin, it's going to need to be as thick as your brain to deal with what's heading your way.

And you still want to be involved even though your boy lost to someone you have labelled everything from senile to a thief.

We will continue this thread as an example of the future that awaits the UK via the corrupt Boris Johnson government, it's the same playbook, same funders, same outcome. You are warned...
