If Flynn and others accept a Pardon it does two things a) it confirms a guilty plea which will block them from standing for or holding public office (some will care others will not) and b) eliminates their 5th Ammendment right not to testify on the grounds of self-incrimination. So contrary to protecting Trump, an accepted Pardon gives a Grand Jury an opportunity to investigate crimes and Flynn has no legal protection to not testify. i.e. if he refuses he can go to jail for contempt of Court. Definitely not the sharpest knives in the block these guys..... and if Trump gets a Pardon he can’t stand for President in 2024 as he is threatening to do to the Republicans.
