The Never-President Trump

Recommended Posts

For all today's lunacy, the fact is the clock is running and the polls are not get any better for the President.

Michigan the latest state poll. And the margin of the erosion of Trumps support among the oldest voters is increasing ... something about being extremely rude, arrogant and threatening to defund social security may not have been such a good idea?

Boris and co had better wake up.... there is a sea change in American attitude to EU v UK coming in January.

This apparent boost he is feeling in his health will be back to haunt him big time within a week or so I suspect.

I do hope this is true. Not specifically for him but to undermine his ridiculous message about not letting Covid dominate lives. How many thousands will now relax their vigilance based on that message. A relapse will at least give pause for thought.

Yep, the worst possible message in a pandemic, but no more than one would expect.

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!

Nothing to fear here then. The man is truly a monster

Nothing to fear says Trump. And this, after repeatedly asking medics whether he was going to die before being taken to hospital in Airforce One.

So, in his steroid fuelled video rant Trump speculated, "Maybe I'm immune". No Donald you're not immune, you're f*cking CONTAGIOUS you sh*t-for-brains piece of garbage. Your value to humanity is less than the screwed up fat stained burger cartons that no doubt swamp your bedroom floor. Only a king cnut like you would think it acceptable to spread the virus among others in pursuit of your grubby political aims.

The upcoming election in three stills.

1. Biden is starting to open up a gap that cannot be closed.

2. Biden is winning big on every issue except the economy, but even there he's tied / slightly ahead.

3. Biden is winning every group except non-college educated white men.

Which all means the probability of physical voter suppression and violence on the streets is high.

By Nov 5, we will either have fascism imposed by a minority, or be well on the road to recovery and a reckoning.

Yes. there was an analysis piece in, I think, the Washington Post probably at least two months back which said women with no college degree, previously a plus for Trump, were switching to Biden.

And here is the other reason that this election - 28 days away - will be a terrible for any Republican candidate.

FOR WHATEVER REASON : the fact is if you have a Republican led State Assembly your state right now has one or more Covid hot spot. If you have a Democratic led State Assembly you do not. There are a few States with Democratic Governors and Republican Assemblies - like Wisconsin for example - where the Assembly has taken the Governor to court to invalidate stay at home and mandatory masks in public orders. It seems  "The Party of Life" is doing a great job getting people killed. And voters have noticed.

We knew the wheels were coming of this bus, but boy ... "stop negotiations" order to his Republican Party colleagues just three days after "lets get a deal done" message...

and his enablers / supporters in right wing media are all in on the Covid denial.

Must be some powerful hallucinogens that they are all taking.... New York Post (not the New York Times) and Fox News are both owned by .... Rupert Murdoch of course.

Trump and his aides are now saying that as Biden has no experience of actually having Covid then he couldn’t possibly run the country during their crisis. As one tweeter says just because he hasn’t done drink driving, doesn’t mean he doesn’t know it’s dangerous. And I thought the Monster Raving Looney Party could never win a seat let alone an election.

Hi

Thought I would share this snippet with you from our come on Sarah thread. Basically the FDA have just made a couple of new rules down for a vaccine which will make it almost impossible for trump to have his vaccine before the election ( even though the first part of ours maybe issued by then to certain categories ). He’s not going to be happy.

Biden says

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has said the second televised debate should not take place if President Donald Trump is still infected.

"I think if he still has Covid, we shouldn't have a debate," Biden said on Tuesday.

"I think we're gonna have to follow very strict guidelines. Too many people have been infected and it's a very serious problem."

The debate is scheduled for 15 October in Miami, Florida.

Trump tested positive on Thursday 1 October, but it's not clear when he caught the virus or began to feel unwell.

According to US public health guidelines, Trump should remain in isolation for up to 10 days after symptoms first appear.

THEN OF COURSE THE TRUMP SIDE SAY THIS- They really are mad

A Trump campaign adviser has told the BBC the president is “optimistic” he will be able to take part in the second televised debate with his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Jenna Ellis told the BBC’s Today programme that Trump was “doing really well” - but the final decision would be taken after consultations with the White House physicians.

Ellis said the president was “taking this virus seriously”, but added that “we shouldn’t live in fear of this virus”.

She also said that Joe Biden "didn’t’ do really well" in the first, chaotic debate last week.

"It's very clear Biden is looking for an out on this one".

You can read our correspondent Anthony Zurcher's assessment of the last debate here.

According to some I'm an unpatriotic remainer snowflake loser.  But on this occasion I broadly agree with Donald Trump.

He's had the virus, and so have I.  Fear of the virus is worse than the virus itself in nearly every case.  Don't be afraid.

If polling is accurate that he looks toast- interesting to see Pennsylvania for instance having polls showing Biden not only well ahead but also over 50%- meaning Trump not only has to persuade those who were undecided but also actively win over those who say they'll vote Biden.

I'm not sure the Americans that can't afford their ludicrous medical bills will agree with you there Benchy

For many Americans, getting sick, through zero fault of their own, either means death or bankruptcy. That's completely unacceptable in a modern society, the fact that there are Americans IN that situation that defend the status quo is a damning indictment of their failed education system.

I was listening to an NFL podcast today and the hosts were talking about an old colleague of theirs who had died from cancer and asking people to donate to his GoFundMe to help cover outstanding medical bills as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

Utterly insane that his family are having to worry about whether they can afford to pay for their dead husband/fathers cancer treatment.

I can tell you a funny conversation I had with one of my American colleagues (I've worked there for years). Reasonably well to do manager. Spent about $400/month on health insurance but was arguing that the NHS wouldn't have been able to sort his 'ear' problem (they would, for free).

It's just what they believe - all myth and no facts / reality. I have far worse stories of a colleague bankrupted by medical bills through a serious accident with an uninsured driver not his fault.

Somewhere I read that overall for what they pay they only get about 1/2 the medical value as per the NHS. Wonder why they are pushing that in the 'Brexit' USA-UK pharmaceutical 'trade deal'. Alas another thread!

I did a year studying in the states and remember a couple of Republican students keenly wanting to get my opinion on the NHS in a class debate because they were utterly certain I'd be against 'socialised medical care.' They looked a bit shocked when I told them I thought the NHS was great and that British people generally look at the US healthcare system as a bit crazy.

I have a lot of time for most American's and America itself but the stereotype of them being insular as to the rest of the world and how they are viewed is spot on, even amongst the more liberal types. Most seemed really surprised that I didn't have an interest in making a permanent move out there.

One of my old Brit colleagues still out there always jokes -

"And now for the International news - today in Washington ..."
