I wanted to hear what was happening with the flooding on the coast last night but gave up on the 10pm news when it was still all Mandela at 10.30. You can only take so much of the same old thing being continually rehashed.A great man and all that, but you got the feeling that imminent Nuclear War or Martian Invasion would only have been the second story last night. Herman 9,755 Posted December 6, 2013 There aren''t many world leaders that deserve the obituary he is getting. I am sure it can be ''tolerated'' for a day for someone of his stature.

I am sure it can be ''tolerated'' for a day for someone of his stature."The country has been in rapid decline since the end of apartheid with unemployment high and rising, poverty increasing, educational standards falling, violent, racist and sexual crime at shockingly high levels and on the increase. Still, what do you expect of people who think all the problems of the world can be fixed with an old car tyre and a box of matches?
mrs miggins 0 Posted December 7, 2013 surely celebrating one of the worlds most important and kindest figures should have a large amount of coverage as he did so much for the world. I think its more important than the weather

Herman 9,755 Posted December 8, 2013 It does seem that people also conveniently forget what the Apartheid government was up to as well. For a man to be locked up for so long by them, and then come out without wanting every to kill every one of the scumbags is pretty remarkable. To be able to keep a country reasonably united and peaceful after the downfall of an evil regime is also remarkable as well.P.s. Nobody has airbrushed his past away. Some of us appreciate what he accomplished when he used a peaceful political route.
Joanna Grey 0 Posted December 9, 2013 We should never forget his legacy; Turning a first world country, the only successful African country, into a lawless, corrupt basket case just like the rest of those on that continent.
