I mention this as the Royal Baby is now born. I believe this should be made absolutely illegal as hitting kids is bullying by a powerful individual and creates a fear type relationship rather than a respectful, loving one between parent and child and can lead to nervousness of the child, withdrawal, perhaps depression, even suicide, amongst many other undesirable effects.  A child cannot fight back even if he/she feels she has been unfairly victimised and of course would not want to hit his beloved parents anyway. To me this is an evil in society and is the cause of many problems as children reach adolescence. Please NEVER hit your kids.

Why do you want to stop parents from parenting however they see fit. I personally don''t like smacking but people should be allowed to use it as a last resort. Too many people trying to interfere in others personal lives.
