Lard-Arsed Britain

I can''t believe how many obese people I see out and about these days. At a rough guess, at least 50% of people I see look noticeably overweight, and something like 20% obese. Why?

Putting the largest McDonalds in the Olympic park doesn''t set a very good example.

I agree with you though, feeding yourself on high salt high sugar diets with flat screens having replaced real play and sports, I remember going to play footie at the drop of a hat, sometimes it was just a look at a ball that set me off, that''s all gone. Today''s youngsters can''t face playing in all weathers, some have OCD , they can''t do anything without playing on games consoles, or computers. Norfolk will get 350 apprenticeships, that will make it all better,...for some. The vast majority is sitting at home doing sweet f...all.They can''t cook, many eat cheap processed food, and our casualty unit are creaking under the weight of modern wo/man, special beds will have to be bought, as if an epedemic of bad American habits is sweeping the country. And that when we have the most healthiest diets in Europe, i.e. the Mediterranean diet.

Ah, but it''s delicious and nutritious food according to Boris Johnson - mind you he does look well-fed, to say the least!

The fact that a lot of people drive everywhere these days ,instead of walking ,children no longer walk to their local school they are driven 20 miles in something similar to an APC ,diet too as Nevermind pointed out ,I can''t remember the last time a had a Mcdonalds ,or any fast food for that matter ,and it depends where you live ,I have noticed in the village where I live very few people are obese ,but you go to the nearest town it is salad dodger city

I freely admit that it is much easier to put on weight than it is to lose it. I was once about 5 stone too heavy, and I now have to work hard at keeping the lard at bay. I don''t think the war on weight will ever be won for me as I love food and drink so much.
Two Big Macs and fries please!
I have the odd MacD''s and yesterday was no exception. But for once i properly looked at the nutrional info.Nearly 70% worth of your daily fat allowance is in a big mac and large fries.Bit worrying really.

McDonalds isn''t that unhealthy when you look at some places. Check out the nutrition info for the meals in Weatherspoons. You''d be horrified if you think a Big Mac is bad...

I am not going to look from now on. I would not eat anything otherwise. All in moderation as they say.

That''s the best way Herman! I never bother looking unless I''m buying the cheaper supermarket stuff, because you''ve got to watch that sometimes!

Other than that, I do a bit of exercise to keep in shape and I''ve never had a problem.
