Great Jazz musicality, and these guys are very polished at it! Plus, it always makes me laugh listening to the delivery of such lyrics!!
Herman 9,716 Posted September 8, 2020 A double bit of Nick Cave. The first from a vinyl only release and the second from a Marc Bolan tribute album (to keep with the covers theme.)
sonyc 5,492 Posted September 8, 2020 Roy Ayers featured earlier on R6 today as he is 80 this week. Couple here.

Yellow Fever 3,747 Posted September 8, 2020 I was listening to Supertramp 'Crime of the Century'. Then twigged it was the anthem of No. 10 and certain Tories. Now they're planning the crime of the centuryWell what will it be?Read all about their schemes and adventuringIt's well worth a feeSo roll up and seeAnd they rape the universeHow they've gone from bad to worseWho are these men of lust, greed, and glory?Rip off the masks and let seeBut that's no right oh no, what's the story? But there's you and there's meThat can't be right
Herman 9,716 Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) I can't say owt about the lyrics but that has one of the best piano breaks in rock music. Very simple but rather moving.👍 And the Roy Ayers track,Running Away, has been sampled recently (the doo-be-doo) but I can't remember by whom. Herman 9,716 Posted September 10, 2020 I finally got around to a good online record shopping excursion. They sadly informed me that the Yusef Lateef album I wanted wasn't available but they had others in stock. This included the album I wanted but as part of a 4 CD boxset. For the same price. Nice.👍😀

SHRIMPER 328 Posted September 10, 2020 (edited) Thought I would cheer myself up today and listened to Leonard Cohen. He really was a fantastic song writer. One or two songs of his I would like to play to a few on here on an endless loop. Edited September 10, 2020 by SHRIMPER
