hexem 0 Posted August 9, 2012 Almost five years ago I started a thread called Nothing Much on The EDP forum. Posters from all over the world joined in with the eclectic style. Rupert from Bavaria, Matty from Vermont.Bemused, Keith G. was part of a quite happy group with many others. We hit 100 pages before they pulled the forum. So I have gone back to my younger days and am playing "Dylan Unplugged". Desolation Row.hex
Willmeister 35 Posted August 10, 2012 Been listening to a lot of Hank Williams Snr. recently. Bought an album called the Complete Collection, which is a 3 disc set, has a greatest hits disc, a live recordings disc and a rareities disc. The rareties disc simply blew me away, here are three of my favourites from it:Fool About You - A very early rockabilly sounding track, but showcasing what a fantastic vocalist he was.Log Train - A stunning showcase of his songwriting abilities. Tear In My Beer - As above.
hexem 0 Posted August 10, 2012 Funny how we find interesting things.I have always liked American folk from Appalachia to California.I have sometimes commented on original Gypsies and the music and art and poetry they inspired. Here is Arlo Guthrie and "Gypsie Davey" a ballad from about 1700.The introduction is quite fun. I have a CD of Woody and his songs. the cover included his guitar inscribed with "This machine kills fascists".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9GkJnAcF4o
