What y'all listening to?

Recommended Posts

Almost five years ago I started a thread called Nothing Much on The EDP forum. Posters from all over the world joined in with the eclectic style. Rupert from Bavaria, Matty from Vermont.Bemused, Keith G. was part of a quite happy group with many others. We hit 100 pages before they pulled the forum. So I have gone back to my younger days and am playing  "Dylan Unplugged". Desolation Row.hex

Been listening to a lot of Hank Williams Snr. recently. Bought an album called the Complete Collection, which is a 3 disc set, has a greatest hits disc, a live recordings disc and a rareities disc. The rareties disc simply blew me away, here are three of my favourites from it:Fool About You - A very early rockabilly sounding track, but showcasing what a fantastic vocalist he was.Log Train - A stunning showcase of his songwriting abilities. Tear In My Beer - As above.

Funny how we find interesting things.I have always liked American folk from Appalachia to California.I have sometimes commented on original Gypsies and the music and art and poetry they inspired. Here is Arlo Guthrie and "Gypsie Davey" a ballad from about 1700.The introduction is quite fun. I have a CD of Woody and his songs. the cover included his guitar inscribed with "This machine kills fascists".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9GkJnAcF4o

Predictably I am listening to the new MUSE album - "The 2nd Law".

Mostly it is very good with several different styles but there are a couple of songs I feel are not up to the usual standard.

I can see a few working very well live, Supremacy being one of them...

Not sure if you''ve got tickets for the Vaccines, but F*cked Up are backing them up at Ally Pally, and a good band called DIIV are a support act at other venues.

I''ve got a lot coming up Herman. Vaccines is probably pushing it a bit.

Although I did just see TOY are at the Waterfront Norwich later in the month. I might be tempted by that after your sig recommendation.

Two steps from hell- heart of courage

Easily one of the best music production companies in existence. They make some fascinating music to some fascinating trailers/movies/videos and whatnot.

I love a bit of instrumental
