Preston Fans - Confident bunch or realistic?

Recommended Posts

In terms of realism Preston have taken 3 points from the team bottom of the table, and another point from the team 3rd from bottom.

Now that does raise the chicken and egg question of are those teams at the bottom at this early stage of the season because they have played a good Preston side or do Preston have 4 points because they have played teams they have showed no form at the start of the season? How that question is assessed obviously influences the view that might be taken of our performance against them!

In terms of realism Preston are one of the most pointless teams in the division, as shown by they absolute meagre and spiritless away following last night, and their lack of home following.

Just kidding, but honesty, it shows that some fans have outrageously unrealistic expectations.

Agreed Mello; this may come back to haunt me, but I think it will be a very good test, that their tactics will suit us, and am cautiously optimistic of a good result.

Preston looked very ordinary to me. I wonder if Neil is one of those managers capable of getting an initial burst of performance from his players, but that over time his tactics limit any such gains. I think they''ll do well to finish above mid-table from what I saw. We may well do too, though I do think we''ve got some decent players in the mix if the stars (and Farke''s tactics) align for us.

I was nearly going to post that Alex Neil has done a decent job with limited resources and built a tight knit, hard to beat team of workhorses but then I remembered that Championship Rich List and recalled that their owner is a great deal wealthier than Delia.
