Here's a novel suggestion

Recommended Posts

So we get Marshall in, supposedly good at right back as well as further forwards, gets two or three chances and doesn''t do so well, so Pinto comes back, but he has looked a bit gung ho in his apperances and was caught out against Leeds so Aarons gets his chance after an excellent cup match. Nothing negative about Farke''s actions there. I call that good management. If Aarons goes on to prove himself and make himself first choice RB then job''s a good''un.

A Good Manager would of selected the best one in the First place LDC not tried 3 in one position to find the best one !

No.  Marshall was identified as a RB, Pinto an experienced campaigner and Aarons nothing more than a young hopeful - who had to wait his turn. Having waited and then taken his opportunity, the world is now his oyster.  Well done to him and well done to Farke for giving him the opportunity and the right circumstances to be able to make the move to the first team.   Good management, without a doubt.
Of course the onus is on Marshall and Pinto to raise their game when they get another chance, but because of good management, the competition for right back is well and truly there.

Yes but would it not been better to see who was the best on the training pitch ?

did we not have the same problem last season at left back ?

played 3 players there signing Husband etc only to find out the best left back was already here in lewis

Would a Good Manager not have spotted that Marshall and pinto were not as good as Aarons ?

I wonder who was best on the training pitch? Subsequent match performances may not be linked to performances on the training pitch.
Is there a training pitch option when picking the team on footy manager?[;)]

i was Expect Farke to come up with something different over the summer ,

I just thought if he is such a great coach he would pull something unexpected out the hat something to show he is cut above the rest

Sadly and i do mean that i have not seen that just the same old

i would love a Manager / HC at the club 5 / 6 years like a David Moyes at Everton but we need something back something to hold onto

Ha ! yes lineker was not the best trainer or Gazza but

i think i would because of his Performances also did he miss all the chances in training i doubt it

I am just saying they see these players every day the Manager / HC must know who is the best right back at the club

I doubt he had a clue who would prove best. You could see in the summer that he trusted Max like he did Lewis last summer. But he didn''t really know until they played. If you want a clue how much he trusted them Lewis came straight in for the pressure game at Birmingham and Aarons away at ipswich.
That''s a massive incentive to all our academy players but it takes bottle for a manager under pressure to do it.

That is one thing he is good at bringing in Youth players i imagine from his Development days at Dortmund

i think we Lewis / Godfrey / Aarons we have some very good players and Thompson if he can stay fit Cantwell when he bulks up a bit

Credit for the people who brought these players to the club and Trained them in their younger days

If you try being positive that sentiment is going to go away as soon as Delia sells the next player so that she can keep the club to herself.

How can you be positive about being a feeder club?

You are being very naive if you think NCFC has anything to do with the football, players or fans. It is simply a financial business model that keeps the Suffolk Socialists in control.

The academy is now key to this model and the next players to be sold are Godfrey, Lewis, Aarons and the boy Idah.

Yes, them too.

At least with Chase we bought some quality replacements, but with Delia it is sell high and bring in cheapest of the cheap, often from the secondary leagues of Europe, where transfer fees and wage demands are dirt cheap.

Totally agree BV. They used to call it "Prudence with Ambition" but now they simply call it prudence.

Terrible to sell players for big money, isn''t it, after all Chase didn''t have to do that, did he......oh yes, come to think of it he did - if he hadn''t the club would probably have folded due to his profligate stewardship.
And players from european leagues wanting a challenge is wrong?  Pukki is a class finisher, Vrancic has adapted well, Leitner is starting to show hs quality, Trybull is an excellent player, Stiepermann has something about him, Zimmermann has stepped up too. Passlack a very promising young player, Buendia bags of talent, Srbeny has shown he is a useful.  Yeah it''s all wrong hasn''t it.......
....not.

There wasn''t anything profligate about Chase''s stewardship.

The City Stand had to be built because the old stand burnt down. The Barclay had to be built to comply with the Lord Justice Taylor Report. The corner infills were needed to increase capacity. And Colney was required to replace Trowse, which was no longer suitable for a modern professional club. The land around the stadium was bought so that future ground development and capacity building became feasible.

None of these were vanity projects. They were practical necessities, which the Suffolk Socialists have benefited from since.

Of course he did.
Chris Sutton out the door despite the promise.
Replaced by Mike Sheron and then Keith Scott (our esteemed posterboy?)

Chase did some great things and was a success and then he did some silly things as Nutty said Sutton etc and Money wise we were broke at the end

But i liken that to Delia she has done some wonderful things for the club took us up to PL etc

BUT she has also had the club on very thin ice Money wise,

Lets remember that we only sit pretty today because we sold Maddison and Murphy without that money this summer we would have been in trouble

And Bowlett before bailed us out

I don''t really think either were Bad owners to be honest both had / have their faults

Biggest Fault i think delia has is Not looking for a new owner for the club

I think our majority shareholding duo would allow the sale of a ''For Sale'' sign if it got a lot of interest......but certainly not the club.....

Like norfolkngood says both Chase and DS/MJW made mistakes. Chase''s however were bad enough that the club was in dire straits because of it. Delia and MJW though have rectified any serious mistakes - a major reason why there is no reason to want them to go. Now you could say there has been an element of luck attached to that, but then if someone makes mistakes and puts it right, that is much more commendable than someone making mistakes and putting the club totally at risk which is what happened at the end of Chase''s tenure.

1. They rescued the club with their input to start with.

2. As debts carried on escalating - as they did across many clubs - they helped with a loan that they did not expect to be repaid.

3. Having got into a state where finances were critical in 2008/9 They were able to rectify that with getting McNally in and his strong input which led to a rejuvenation of the club.

4. Having put all the eggs in the basket of staying on the PL and then trying to get promotion back again straight away, the money situation was again critical - but because of the way the club had developed we had the players to sell to rectify that too.

So making mistakes and putting them right is a commendable thing - and in all honesty people must accept that all club owners make mistakes - so the important thing is what you do when you have made those mistakes. Chase had some great times, but the club was left almost ruined as a result. People also may not regard the present situation as having rectified anything, but here we are with no real debts, a strong looking squad and a forward looking approach to the way the club will develop.

Actually when you look at it like that, the club has never been healthier. Just because we don''t have x amount of millions pounds doesn''t mean we are not healthy. What matters is the set up and ethos. That is what we have. Healthy finances and a good development plan which equals a good solid club.

It''s a shame Chase couldn''t have done that rather than leave things as he did, but that is why DS and MJW should be appreciated for what they are - owners who are responsible and caring about the long term well being of the club. The club is in good hands and if that is perpetuated for when they want to pass the mantle on, that should be appreciated too. This is not clinging to the coat tails or fawning after the owners - it is simply saying how it is.
I see the just ousted billionaire arsenal owner is looking to reinvest his £600m in another club..
Arsenal couldn''t stop him buying publicly listed shares or paying for a box at the Emirates but, despite his regularly dangling his billions before disgruntled Arsenal fans, that principled club resolutely kept him off the BOD and very much at arms length. Before fans of any club start frothing at the mouth, they really ought to look into why.

The Suffolk Socialists have a long history of repeating the same mistakes.

The club will never progress if it has to keep rectifying the same mistakes by the same people. At best it is going to be static with one step forward and one step back. At worst it is going to be L1 or lower.

Since McNasty left we have seen the club''s league position get lower and lower. If the Suffolk Socialists dump the club back into L1 either this season or next, they will be relying on pure luck in finding another McNasty to turn it all round again.

Do we want to be run by stupid owners who keep steering the ship straight into icebergs? Would it not be sensible to get a new owner who knows where the ice packs are and navigates a course through them?

Surely it is not too much to ask that the club be run by someone a bit intelligent? I am not even asking for them to have money....................
