At least the bunch of wasters are all confined to one moaning thread. Can we keep it this way throughout the season?
Intelligent & thoughtful as always...

The fact that the "fatigue" factor had been raised in the earlier post which generated twenty replies suggests that it was a matter that should have been considered.

A few thought it best to stick with a winning team, despite the evidence of the Derby encounter.

Farke did just that. Not a bad shout, but perhaps not the best approach under the circumstances.

The fact that the end might be seen to justify the means indicates that this was possibly the wrong decision.

I personally feel that the manager got it wrong and that his understanding of the demands of this league might not be quite as complete as I had previously thought.

It is difficult to be critical though in view of our fine winning run, the excellent football played against Stoke and the fact that, on the day we were very unlucky.

Who could forecast what might have been but those of us suggesting a bit of studied tinkering cannot be accused of being wise after the event?

In Rhodes, Vrancic and Hernadez we had a very strong trio of rested players sitting most of the game out.

So Stoke must also be toothless given they had less shots on goal, lets shots overall and the winning goal was not scored by them......
I suppose it looks worse when you have so much possession in the attacking third, but don’t create much from it.

Stoke rarely had any sustained pressure in our half. Had they done, I suspect Afobe might have made them look a bit more clinical.

Stoke played for a draw, whilst looking to exploit any counter attacks or set pieces presented.

We had a lot of games like that last season.
Afobe had failed to score in Stoke''s 4 previous games-in which they created 59 chances (source, BBC) and in which he played around 330 minutes so I would guess that quite a lot of these fell to him. This, and the chance he missed towards the end of the match, suggest that he wouldn''t have made them look more clinical.

As sure as night follows day, Delia has now got us started on another bad run.

Club heading nowhere whilst she''s there.

Bring back Chase.
