Delia to speak at the final say rally this Saturday in London

Recommended Posts

RTB- would be best if you preceded this with - "in my opinion "... there is an election Nov 06 and we''ll see what the US electorate says then.

" Actually, the US is doing extremely well in economic terms since Trump became President. The mid-term elections will probably return a Republican majority, foreign policy successes in places like North Korea and no blind rushing into further wars, unlike his predecessor Obama, means that the US is getting back on the right track. "

Hint the economy is following exactly the same trend lines as under the previous administration, except job growth has slowed a bit, the budget deficit and national debt have grown significantly due to the business tax cuts, the rate of inflation has risen to more than the average wage increase, healthcare coverage and social security payments are on the chopping block by the Republican leadership (again), the import tariffs are causing manufacturing and agriculture sectors major problems (examples Ford Motor and Soy Beans farmers), there is evidence of widespread petty theft / corruption / incompetence by administration department heads, and no major policy wins - sucking up to Korea, Russian and Saudi Arabia while trashing our traditional allies is not going down well.
3 hrs from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square. Still Whitehall to go. Hundreds of thousands of people here. Well done.
Mostly naive indoctrinated lefty student snowflakes apparently and under 18s who fancied a free trip out.  I''m sure they know more about the EU Utopia than those that voted leave...... [:D]
Roll on Brexit and a victory for democracy.....   no prizes for anarchists.
The speakers are a cabale of socialists or socialist sympathisers.

Socialists are the enemies of the poor. Their policies make the poor a lot poorer.

The biggest deceit is that socialist leaders sip champagne whilst asking the electorate to vote to be poorer.
Ok, and the record increase in the number of people needing handouts from foodbanks is because of the socialists is it? And there''s me thinking that it is the tories that are in charge of the country.

I was there, thought it stupid not to - along with 3/4million others. It''s not about whether I was in or out before, or whether I am now - that''s totally irrelevant. It''s about having a proper say when the options are known and put to us properly. If the people still vote to leave then that''s what democracy is all about - not the farce that the referendum was, which was full of lies (e.g.£ 350m/wk to the NHS, ''the easiest trade deal you could ever wish for'' on the one side, ''project fear'' on the other).

So could you tell us what this second referendum is for, as you see it?

Fair play Delia although personally I think watching us win away to Forest is far more enjoyable than spending 3 hours with a bunch of Uni students.

The few hundred gammon at Farage''s counter rally had a combined age that far exceeded the 700k in London. Well done[Y]
I''ve already said. The problem is that nowadays people just can''t be bothered to read.
You mean this?

"It''s about having a proper say when the options are known and put to us properly"

So , for you:

1. What form would this "proper say" be?

2. How many options should be considered?

3. How do the options become put to you properly, as opposed to being put improperly?

Perhaps you should have read up before the first referendum.

700k is the organisers estimate so the actual numbers are probably around half that. But let''s take your numbers for a minute. The Countryside Alliance got over one million marchers, so it''s clear that in the UK people care more about countryside issues that they do abbout a bunch of teachers and their second referendum nonsense.
even though I asked, not one of you is able to explain how a second referendum is supposed to work.

There was a piece of paper with a question and some boxes where the preferred option was selected. I surprised you''ve forgotten, it wasn''t that long ago.
Pleased to help.

It’s an excellent example of freedom of expression and will make those that attended feel good about themselves.

The reality is that whilst there may have been a small shift towards remain in the polls it is nowhere near enough to cause a political shift towards another referendum.

It can''t work.

The only way to run a fair referendum is if there are two choices. If there are three choices, for example, out with no deal, accept chequers or remain in, then the out vote would be split meaning the only possible outcome would be to remain, even if less than half voted for it.

If there are two questions then it can only be in or out and we''ve already had that one!

Nigel Farage said that if the result was 52-48 there should be another vote''
David Davis said if a democracy can''t change it''s mind it ceases to be a democracy.
Jacob Rees-Mogg said there should be a referendum on the exit deal.

"The only way to run a fair referendum is if there are two choices"

Why? At a general election there are often 3 or more candidates to choose from, what''s different about a referendum? And it''s nonsense to say that once a vote is taken you can''t re-take it again - especially when the vote across UK was within a few %, most referendum require a 2/3 majority to be binding.

Having watched the news and seen coverage of today, can''t help feeling disappointed at the low level abusive posters and banners that were on display.   Abuse and bitterness will achieve nothing except invite more abuse and vitriol from the opposing side.  Sure feelings are running high, but it is enough that many people turned out to show solidarity, so the abusive and and downright gutter language banners on show were not necessary and help no-one. Peaceful marches are meaningless if the banners they display are putting across message of hate and vile sentiment about people involved.  Hate and bitterness will get us nowhere - so why so much of that on show?

Delia marching about a Vote .

i don''t really cares if she marches or not etc She has done well for the club and it is her choice

but ......

This is a lady who makes sure she always gets the vote Heavily in her favor in the Boardroom by having friends and family on it complaining a vote is not fair !

Because a general election is run on a first past the post system with multiple choices. A referendum is supposed to be a choice between two. Do we legalise cannabis, yes or no. Do we bring back capital punishment yes or no. Etc. Totally different concept.

Well, that is the trait of anarchists.   No surprises there.
