Delia to speak at the final say rally this Saturday in London

Recommended Posts

If you''re saying that we should have a re-run of the first referendum Load of Squit then I understand how it would work. My understanding was that todays march was to call for a referendum to accept the deal or not.

Politically this is going to be a mess whatever happens. Corbyn wants to use any uncertainty over Brexit (which he has never publically offered any opinion on, although he''s always voted against Europe) to force another general election. We''re due to leave within 6 months and the time taken to arrange another referendum would take us past this. Let the champagne socialists do what they like, it ain''t gonna change anything.

I was there, Branston was there, and I doubt either of us could tell you the numbers exactly, but it was sure the biggest display of peaceful protest I have ever been involved in. The posters weren''t abusive or bitter and a lot were purely taking the piss out of the clowns that have got this country in the current mess. There was a wide range of ages involved, all in a very good humour, and I didn''t see a single example of bad manners or poor behaviour and I bet the police would love this level of decency at every major event. Today the best of Britain gathered in massive numbers and if you ignore these people then you will have a poor country, and judging by some of the comments, a poor country that some deserve.

Sounds like a blast. Shame it was an exclusive event that could only be attended by the best of the best of the best of the best. I had to slum it out at Alton Towers instead. I voted remain, leave won, deal with it and get on with living life...

I take your point as you were there and I''ve looked at pictures from other sources and it backs you up - I watched Channel 4 news who managed to find footage of a few of the more abusive banners to show......just goes to show you can get a false impression quite easily from watching the news....

The few hundred gammon at Farage''s counter rally had a combined age that far exceeded the 700k in London. Well done[Y]
700k is the organisers estimate so the actual numbers are probably around half that. But let''s take your numbers for a minute. The Countryside Alliance got over one million marchers, so it''s clear that in the UK people care more about countryside issues that they do abbout a bunch of teachers and their second referendum nonsense.
even though I asked, not one of you is able to explain how a second referendum is supposed to work.
Sorry to intrude with some facts but the Countryside Alliance numbers were 300,000 according to the Met and 400,000 according to the organisers - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1407980/Thousands-march-for-countryside.html
So half the size of today''s march which is reckoned to be the second biggest ever, beaten only by the ''Stop the (Iraq) War'' protest.

Oops! The ‘Peoples’ Vote’ campaign had to delete the video after a backlash on Twatter.

Smith is a souffle socialist and left to her own devices an emotion over reason individual as has been previoisly demonstrated when she has had too much boardroom influence.

I notice her old man let her get on with it and went to the match.

Unfortunately, there would not be a category in a second referendum which says ''I still want Brexit but not one conducted by the current idiots in office.'' That would be more of a general election and it is probably what we''ll end up with.

Another referendum would hold no validity because it would have no credibility as the previous one was not adhered to.

I''m sick and tired of the whole circus. This should have been straightforward but May''s disastrous general election with a loss of majority plus a Parliament full of remainders bolstered by the mainstream media meant we could never go into negotiations with any strength.

I''m not backing him. He''s on the same side as me during this political debate but it doesn''t mean I think he shouldn''t face the consequences for the disastrous Iraq war. Why is everything so black and white to you RWNJs?

The weak position is entirely down to those who fought the winning referendum. Cameron walked and they hid. At least if it had been done as an election we would have had a winning government to implement it.

I didn''t understand the EU issues at the time and still don''t now. At least I admitted it at the time. I wonder how many won''t admit it although that EU thread would give an idea. However, bearing that in mind another referendum, even if just on the exit, would be another waste of time.
