Twtd full of Paul Lambert coming in
"Ipswich are set to risk the wrath of fans and turn to ex-Norwich boss Paul Lambert to replace Paul Hurst.

Hurst, 44, has been axed after just five months in charge and with the Tractor Boys bottom of the Championship.

Owner Marcus Evans has acted after Hurst’s miserable run of just one win in his first 15 games.

He has already sounded out Lambert, who has been out of work since failing to keep Stoke in the Premier League last season.

The

49-year-old Scot will have the task of preventing Ipswich from dropping

into English football’s third tier for the first time in 62 years.

If a deal can be agreed in time he might even be in charge on Friday when they visit relegation rivals Millwall.

Some

Town supporters have already voiced their disapproval of Lambert as a

potential replacement after his time with their arch-rivals.

But

that will not deter Evans, who remembers the massive impact Lambert made

while in charge at Carrow Road between 2009 and 2012.

He led them to the League One title in 2010 and then straight into the Premier League a year later.

After the Canaries finished 12th Lambert joined Aston Villa and was eventually dismissed in 2015.

Since then he has managed Blackburn, Wolves and Stoke, where he had just four months in charge.
