king canary 7,580 Posted May 5, 2018 The amount creaming themselves over the idea of a George Burley (last managed in 2011) and Terry Butcher (last seen getting binned by Newport in League Two) ''dream team'' is incredible.
BroadstairsR 2,138 Posted May 5, 2018 For all sorts of obvious reasons a speedy appointment would have seemed to be necessary, but this farce is dragging on and on.It can only be assumed that Evans has a lower league manager who is already in a job lined up and that he is waiting for the season''s outcome to unfold before revealing his man. The Shrewsbury manager is the latest favourite with the bookies so perhaps this is the case, but apparently Evans is still interviewing. There have been so many rumours and "def. info" situations that it seems that every Tom, Dick and Harry connected with the world of football has come into the running. Even Arsene Wenger, believe? Such is their history that the binners seem to think that all sorts of worthy candidates will up sticks and willingly accept the position on offer at their decaying shite heap. The truth is that it is a "job from hell," that involves inheriting an average squad, little funding and a whiff of Championship mediocrity about it, let alone the hint of a relegation.Evans/the binmen might well find that the luxury of decent choice diminishes with the delay and that they could be forced to accept a candidate low on their wish list.It has, though, been a welcome distraction from the rather ordinary season''s ending on show for us City fans. Guest Posted May 5, 2018 At least the old"Cheer up George BurleyOh what can it mean"song can be resurrected.
GenerationA47 748 Posted May 5, 2018 ^Probably my favourite song to sing at football for all those years (after OTBC). Don’t think similarly long-serving McCarthy got the same amount of Mick taken out of him? Less genuine rivalry in his time, more pity.

hogesar 9,618 Posted May 6, 2018 As opposed to having:- No players worth selling- 90m circa debt- No ground (Well not one you own anyway)- Naff all fans. You talk about Evans unlike Delia being able to put £6 million in a year. Delia doesnt have too because we make more than the extra £6 million from our attendances and other off field income streams. Also, id much rather have players worth millions of pounds touted with moves than players who no one wants and have no asset value to you as a club. Waghorn isn’t worth anything then? Most combined goals/assists in the league. More than the much hailed Maddison. Bart who was linked with a 5m move to the Prem in January. The numerous England youth internationals we have, worth nothing? As I keep pointing out, Maddison aside whose now crippled, you’ve not got a lot else of any value. Perhaps Klose? You can reel off a few others, but the likes of Oliviera ain’t worth a lot! You’re clearly skint and these extra revenue streams can’t pay to run your academy? Crabbycanary3 994 Posted May 6, 2018 Yesssss, let''s see how much more Waghorn achieves in a transfer fee, as opposed to Madders.....

Just pointing out, he’s worth a decent amount. Who knows what Maddison is worth if he’s got a serious injury...
hogesar 9,618 Posted May 6, 2018 Yeah, the fact your most relatable player to Maddison is Martyn bloody Waghorn speaks volumes. Perhaps the funniest from you yet.

Just how many is that numerous ?City don''t need to sell otherwise Maddison and maybe Klose, Murphy etc would have gone in January, in fact we actually bought players. As usual you halwitted bin folk have filled yor silly little heads with nonsense in the belief that finally you have on over your superior neighbours. You don''t.You don''t even have a manager, or a senior keeper - but you did have over 12,000 empty seats at poorman road todayps any one unsure of how Evans has stiffed them yet again, take a look at thishttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/23508239

king canary 7,580 Posted May 6, 2018 So according to King Keano, the second most valuable player at Ipswich is the keeper.Who is out of contract this season. Wonderful.

Wonderful.[/quote]Over-rated Keeper. They have a year option on him, but he "agreed a new contract" in January and has then spent the rest of the season refusing to sign it. Make no mistake, he is off - they''ll get a fee for him (which will go straight into Evans'' wallet as usual) but I wouldn''t want him here.
