The Maddison Debate

Recommended Posts

If Archant want to show us the size of their balls and demonstrate that they are truly independent of Norwich City Football Club, then they should set up the following poll for the fans to vote on:

Those who want Maddison to stay and Delia to go CLICK HERE, or

Those who want Delia to stay and Maddison to go CLICK HERE

As things stand, there can be little doubt we are living in an eastern bloc socialist dictatorship where the boy Josef "Stalin" Ferrari can call up Archant and tell them exactly what to write and how to do a poll.

They don''t seem to mind doing polls when it suits their mutual purposes and when the question is skewed in their favour because the outcome they are looking for is inherent in the question.

Or maybe they think a poll is pointless?   Much like this thread......
Anyhow, the third option is missing, those who want Maddison to stay and Delia to stay and Vince to sod off[Y]

I don''t remember these polls back in Chases time. Back then I suppose fans had balls not like these new age internet cissies who probably couldn''t tie their laces without a Google map....

Anyone who wants Delia to stay and then apply the second word as off to Vince must be really desperate for a return to League 1.

Or maybe they just don''t have a huge chip on their shoulder like you do.

But the facts and figures are there for everyone to see.

Compared to her three immediate predecessors (Watling, Sir Arthur and Chase) Delia''s league and cup record is atrocious.

The indefensible is simply not defensible.

No it isn''t, anyhow comparisons are fairly pointless when the financial goalposts have changed so much over the years.   What Watling and then South managed to do was get in Ron Saunders to start with, then a fantastic manager and assistant in Bond and Brown and Chase was lucky enough to have someone like Stringer already in house to take over - all in an era when finances in football were not as extreme as they are now.
What DS/MJW had was stakes in a club that had very little money to spend, managed nevertheless to get the club - with the help of fans - to the PL. Not only that, with the debt increasing year on year, managed to get us back again with the appointment of McNally and subsequent success under Lambert.
Success in terms of getting to the Pl, in an era when money is seen as the main issue, has eluded many clubs - even those that have plenty of money to spend - but we have done it with relatively little, so how did that happen Vince?

How about YOU show us the size of YOUR balls Vinnie?
Rather than whingeing and whining on here, how about you actually DO SOMETHING!
What about putting a consortium together to buy them out?
Can''t find anyone with enough money?
Start a protest group, you don''t need money for that!
No?  Just leave it a week and start whingeing n'' whining n'' wailing n'' whimpering all over again.
Balls like peas Vinnie! [8o|]

My balls are in fact already very big because my name starts with the word and I am one of the only people to have actually confronted the Suffolk Socialists in person in public on more than one occasion.

You on the other hand express no opinion on any topic at any time and only come on here to try to shoot down those who do have the balls to express an opinion.

Funny how the posters on here that are also shareholders cannot recall this confrontation that you have also mentioned previously at any AGM''s.

Yes it is.

Watling had 0 relegations compared to Delia''s 4 relegations. Watling was the first club owner to get the club to the top flight and the first to get to a Wembley final. Delia was the first to get us to L1 in 49 years.

Money has always been an issue in football. Watling, South and Chase were up against much richer clubs, but instead of resigning themselves to defeat, managed to get the club to punch above its weight throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s. The Suffolk Socialists don''t even like the EPL and everything it stands for so they won''t now even try to compete. They have given up.

Sir Arthur is the only club owner to have won a cup at Wembley and was a losing finalist too. Sir Arthur had 10 seasons in the top flight. Delia only has one cup quarter-final to her name in 22 years.

Mr Chase was the most successful owner ever with multiple top 6 finishes, multiple European qualifications (including those where English clubs were banned) ending in a UEFA cup last 16 tie and of course the two FA Cup semis.

Entertaining your claim that this confrontatio took place that was hardly the venue to gather support for your campaign now was it ? A gathering of coffin dodgers, happy clappers and those fawning over being in the same room as Delia had you on the back foot to start with surely ?
Now had you called a meeting of like minded fans who think along the lines that you do Vince the wheels to promote your campaign would have gathered momentum but no you chose to hide behind the mask of anonymity on here hoping to achieve what you desire.
As Lapps said get some balls and do something constructive.

Not really much of a ''Maddison debate'', with you waffling on about the size of your balls, is it?

I''m sure that if Maddison is offered a huge pay increase with the chance of playing at the highest level, he''ll be off like a shot. So, if we want him to stay or not it''s nothing to do with us or Delia, just the boy himself...

Twitter (the font of all knowledge) is saying that Leicester have agreed a near £25 mill. deal for the boy.

How terrible of the club not to make him stay and have gruel when he could be having prawn sandwiches...

Strange, I can''t remember Sir Arthur playing in any cup finals. Was Delia calling herself Korey when she got us relegated?

Or perhaps it was her politics, that Gordon Brown was a useless as a centre forward and Tony Blair messed up that cup final when he called himself Jim. And you''d think they''d be good as strikers. And when did Alf Garnett start supporting Norwich?

Yes, I''m all for selling Maddison and using the money to buy some more Maddisons. He''s not a one man team, he was here last year and we didn''t get promoted.

Considering maddison himself has liked the post linking him with Leicester I think it''s safe to say that he won''t be around much longer.

With the number of PL clubs linked with Maddison seemingly increasing on a weekly basis, £25m should be the minimum starting point for his transfer. Villa have supposedly stuck a £40m price on Grealish.

As Norwich won’t be seeing any Pl money for the foreseeable future whilst the ‘annual rebuild’ continues apace, Maddison is clearly in huge demand and there will be no excuse for a poor deal.

"Looks like another firesale disposal is in the offing."

Completely different as a firesale is described as a sale of goods or assets at a very low price, typically when the seller is facing bankruptcy.

This certainly doesn''t seem to be the case. How we can we possibly hold on to him when there is PL interest and we are a Championship club? The player himself would probably want to maximise his wages, play against the top teams and enhance his England international chances and the only possible way we could hang onto him is if he were to be willing to forego these attractions for the time being.

It''s an inevitable career move for the youngster. No amount of emotive language or club bashing can deny the obvious. It happens all the time. TINA.

His role is to choose the right club, Webber''s to play the market and aim for the highest possible bid. Hopefully these two aspects coincide for the benefit of all parties.

If the list of interested top clubs is true then JM will currently be under enormous pressure and if is agent gets it right then he might well earn all his money .... perhaps not.

The amount of so called football fans on Twitter that have “never heard of him” is quite alarming!
