Harry Wilson signing?

Recommended Posts

Norwich City are reportedly in “advanced talks” with Liverpool regarding the permanent signing of Harry Wilson who dazzled on loan at Hull City last season.

Would be sooooo happy with this, although still find it hard to believe. Was on BT sport.

Interesting. Liverpool were linked yesterday with Jarrod Bowen (left sided attacker) from Hull, so Wilson might be looking for a move.

Certainly fits the profile but you''d have thought Hull might have first dibs if the above were true.

Perhaps the Dortmund connection with Klopp is helping. Hope so, he''s a huge improvement on Murphy

Would be a great signing. I''d be surprised that he''s not pushing for a move to a Premier League side after breaking into the Welsh squad and doing so well for Hull last year.

No the Klopp/Farke Dortmund connection (they weren’t at the club at the same time) but the ‘Stuart Webber was head of academy recruit at Liverpool’ connection.

Webber will know Wilson from his time at Liverpool, as well as seeing him at Hull of course.

He only broke into the Wales side to stop him being called up by England in the future. There may be Premier League interest but he’s more likely to get 30 odd games at Norwich than he would there.

From his performances at Hull he looks like he’d be an excellent addition, hopefully Norwich can get it over the line soon.

Seems it is both Wilson and Marshall. Would then give Farke would then have Wilson, Hernandez, Buendia and Marshall as wide options. Buendia also being able to play as a 10 and Marshall can cover right wing back.

A nice array of options, each with something a little different to offer.

Yes. A good quality core of players with a smattering of PL quality loan youngsters ending up with a push for promotion.......oh, you mean the Roeder years?  The situation is nohing like it - we were massively in debt then.

So far the only deals we have done to provide new players for this season are Buendia and McLean, both of which are permanent signings.

Bethnal - I guess it speaks volumes that you don''t even bother to include Jarvis in your list of ''wide options'' available to Farke for the new season.

Playing 3 centre backs I thought the width would come from the wing backs.

Not convinced wingers are a priority.

@FCC

It would give flexibility- so we can switch to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 if needs be. Also in the 3-4-3 you''ll have players who start wide and come inside.

Amazing (but not surprising) how some are finding a negative in this potential signing.

Exciting times with some great potential being linked with us.

Yeah, from the Leitner update it sounds like they''re in for both Wilson and Marshall, but there''s strong competition to get Marshall.

It does not mean that the pound here in Britain, in your pocket or purse or in your bank, has been devalued.

Could we be getting some players on the cheap then?

Not sure there is a left winger there but one who did manage the odd outstanding side step.

Would be amazed if City got Wilson here on loan, i personally think Klopp will keep him at Liverpool, by all accounts hes that near to their first team squad. That Leitner exclusive also said that City are nowhere near signing Marshall in all probability, so for both these players it seems very up in the air right now.

If we miss out to Millwall with Marshall it is perhaps an eye opener as to where the new wage structure leaves us in terms of competitiveness in the transfer market.

No it doesn’t.

Norwich might be only planning of using him as back-up and Millwall might want him as a first teamer. Teams will obviously pay a player relative to how important they feel they will be to the team. Marshall was on loan at Millwall so may feel very happy there and consider that more important than a bit of extra money. Norwich might also not offer as much fee to his agent or have a deal that Wolves reject in favour of Millwall’s.

Far to many permetations in a transfer to take a single, myopic view of ‘he turned down Norwich because they are skint’.

You''re right BYG, he could also turn us down because, like so many others apparently, he thinks we''re sh1te and a laughing stock...
