New shirt?

Recommended Posts

I presume the "New chapter" header on facebook dated July 1st is a pre cursor to the new shirt release as Errea are show at the bottom.

Obviously the home shirt will be yellow but I''d kind like a white kit with black shorts as away kit although maybe too Germany like.

I''d also kinda like another attempt at the blue n white halfs shirt..tho appreciate blue n white is not our fave colour

Sky Blue and White (halves) were our original colors, so I''d go for that again as the basis of an away kit. However we have just one color clash - Hull - this year (and even that isn''t much of a clash) so other than shirt sale income, we really don''t need an away kit at all... FWIW my favorite of recent times was the all red trimmed with yellow 2001-03 away kit.

Didn''t Delia at one time want to change us back to the original colours?

Just proved she really supported another club.

No BV she wanted an all yellow strip when we were sponsored by Colmans and there was a backlash over yellow shorts so we had a card vote to stay all yellow or revert back to green shorts and green won.

Have we ever colour coded our crest / shirt sponsered to match the away shirt colours? For example on a black and white away shirt having the sponser to be black and white as well so it’s not a mess of different colours. Pretty sure one of away kits recently had the aviva sponser in white instead of its usual colours.

I thought last years was one of the best we''ve had in a while. That said, I thought it was ruined by the ugly Leo Vegas logo plastered on the front. All the hundreds of annoying betting adverts on TV surrounding football matches have driven me completely mad recently.

Can''t imagine this years will tempt me to ditch my 11/12 kit, which I still love.

Didn''t he also write Tubular Bells ?
And a second strip is essential when you think how many times we will clash with other teams
ps do refs and linesmen have a change strip ?

Red the SS accusation: no Ipswich''s Blue is not the same as Norwich''s Sky Blue.

If anyone wants to look up the home kit history for all English and Scottish clubs it''s here: and yes we wore all yellow 1997-1999 http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/English_Football_League/index.html

I hope our third kit is nuts again. I''ve bought more of those than the home/away kits lately.

Go for something crazy, like purple.

Screw it, let''s go for rainbows and fire breathing unicorns being ridden by cats

We should go back to having one new kit per year (i.e one year home, next year away) and abandoning the third kit altogether as it is totally superfluous.

Everything post Hummel has been inconsistent and overly complicated. Plus we had a phase where all our kits were baggy and stuck in the 90''s.

Personal faves are Admiral away (78-81) and Hummel away (84-86)

A colleague worked for Hummel and the ''kit we never had'' (86/87) was the best he had ever seen, but Chase was a tough negotiator and went for the ''Mickey Mouse'' Scoreline and mediocrity beckoned ever since.

Pretty sure the home shirt will be along the lines of the Iceland kits (if someone can post a pic?) with green on the sleeves. The pattern on the Iceland shirts seems to fit with a few hints that seem to be given as well

I agree with Rogue Baboon, I think it will be the Iceland kits, just different colours. Home and away will be same style with a random third.

I posted about the Iceland kits a while back saying that I thought they’d look decent, yellow, green sleeves with a sprinkling of white...

Yes Rouge Baboon, I believe somebody posted a pic in one of the FB groups of a yellow shirt and green sleeves going up and over the shoulders

"...rainbows and fire breathing unicorns being ridden by cats."

I''m in too, but only if you take the blue out of the rainbows.

FenwayWankleRotaryEngine sez.....“Screw it, let''s go for rainbows and fire breathing unicorns being ridden by cats “

I was very close to reporting you for close to the knuckle plagiarism there......but, I''m a decent sort, so I''ll let it go but you better tread lightly in your oversized QD flip-flops.......[^o)]

Anyway, I digress.....Maybe our dedicated 2 years a valued Director and future head of the Socialist Smithy Dynasty NepoTominism, can negotiate a decent deal with some third world country sweat shop - and have your suggested wonderful shirt designs mass produced?......If these shirts are not available from distant overseas, Neppers Tommo can then cycle East (on his purple Chopper with a big bulbous horn PAARP! and sporting lovely tassels on the handlebars) whilst farting out glittering rainbows to the tune of OTBC.... PAARP! PAARP!.... Down the Acle straight to our very own (and not so Great), Yarmuff, .....Then he can see if any of their superb seaside T-Shirt shops can bang out your suggested design, a gargantuan amount for around £2.25 a shirt?......Then flog ''em to us, the demanding loyal hoards of fawning forelock tuggin'' followers of  City for around £40.00?......Now, that''s enterprise.......[Y]......If he can pull that off, he''ll for sure, keep us as a football club financially sound.....and affluently afloat.....PAARP!......

IF the teaser image on the official site is the new shirt, it doesn''t have green sleeves and IMO it isn''t based on the Iceland shirt. All I can see is a yellow shirt with green cuffs and collar and no stripes or other additions to the shoulders. The image is lit with colored lights, but there''s a hint the shorts might also be yellow. We''ll see on Sunday...
