Low Mileage Recruitment

Recommended Posts

How much value are we getting from recruitment team that was set up by the boy Webber?

There was supposed to be someone looking at the UK market and someone looking at the Europe market. But apart from a few exceptions, it seems that the boy Farke is leading on most of the recruitment decisions, especially with all these German league signings.

Why can''t we start thinking more outside the box by getting a scouting network set up in West Africa? There is loads of untapped potential there.

Because they wouldn''t get a work permit to play in the Championship?

Minus 2 out of ten.

ohh dear pig mince lets look at the last 5 signings

Buendia ( Spain)

Pukki ( Denmark)

Leitnet ( Germany )

Passlack ( Germany )

Marhsall (England)

I could be wrong but most of our signing are not from the the german leagues you are very much mistaken

but then with your team signing players from the 4th tier of English football you are allowed to be confused

Leitner - Germany

Passlack - Germany

Zimmermann - Germany

Srbeny - Germany

Trybull - Germany

Franke - Germany

Stiepermann - Germany

Now that is a lot of Germanys and suggests our Europe recruitment guy is pretty much surplus to requirements. Pukki was chosen directly by the Board because of his price tag. Okay I will grant you Buendia (but I did allow for exceptions).

Other clubs have thought it through and do have players from West Africa in their squads.

As a football club Norwich City need to evolve, but Delia is stopping that from happening.

very much doubt Delia is behind us not buying from West Africa, more of a can''t work without a permit issue, but then never let a dose of rerality stop you from slagging off the club whatever they do
So Didier Drogba didn''t have a work permit right?

Odion Ighalo?

Ahmed Musa?

Iwobi?

Etobo?
I can help you with Alex Iwobi. He has been in England since he was 4 years old , joined Arsenal FC when he was about 10 and speaks cockney .

Chelsea signed Drogba from Marseille which is in France (not west Africa).

Apart from Iwobi as others have already said.

Drogba grew up in France and played his football there before moving to Chelsea.

Ighalo played in Europe for 7 years before movingly to Watford.

Musa played in Europe 6 years before coming over.

Etobo played in Europe 2 years before coming.

All of the above players were full internationals before playing in England so hardly a representative selection of players unless by scouting West Africa you actually mean just picking a player out of a national squad which you really wouldn''t need a scouting network for.

What is clear is the scouting dept is in utter disarray the quality of what we have signed is clearly lower championship standard at best

Where is the Maddison/Wes replacement?

You couldn''t make it up how bad the scouting has got

Someone must have scouted these players before they arrived at clubs in Europe. Someone must have sorted out their work visas to play in Europe. Where there is a will there is a way. But under the Suffolk Socialists the only will is for them to sell every player for the highest amount so that they can keep a grip on their ownership of the club. They would have neither the imagination nor the inclination to put Norwich City into the big, wide world.

We''ve already established that your knowledge of the scouting world and work permit requirements is non-existent, you don''t need to remind us.

It is only non-existent because you and your cabale on here have willed it to be so.

The actual facts are a lot different.

How did those West Africans get into Europe in the first place?

Who sorted their visas?

In some cases (Drogba''s, for example) I suspect (I am not an expert on the subject) it is because their families are from former French colonies, such as the Ivory Coast, and so can gain entry to France that way. Drogba was living in France from an early age and played all his youth football there.
