Same Old Same Old

Recommended Posts

A lot of people have completely taken their eye off the ball - all this concentration on getting in new strikers when Norwich City''s traditional failing has returned with a vengeance - inability to keep clean sheets.

Since three quarters of the way through last season the goals against has gone through the roof and it has not improved in pre-season. We now also have the additional handicap of dodgy keepers to contend with. If we are going to concede the softest of soft goals like the one against King''s Lynn, then there is no hope at all. Hanley is the best defender. Without him, defeat is much more probable; with him, he gets dragged down to the level of the others and defeat is still possible.

The boy Farke has staked his whole career on keeping clean sheets. If he has now given up on this aspect, as seems the case, then surely he has just shredded his own credibility as a coach. You cannot build a winning team with no defence and he knows this very well. So he should stop filling a bucket with a hole in it. Possession and goals (if there are any this term) without a solid platform will be to no avail.

There are not that many people on here who are self aware enough to put an editorial comment as the title for their post. Well done Vinnie, you’ve saved me the bother of having to read your tiresome piece.
GOOD OLD PIG MINCE

NOTHING POSITIVE AND THE SAME OLD TAPE ON REPEAT
There are occasions when the tape has to be repeated over and over because the message simply doesn''t get through to the powers that be.

I mean, when was the last time Norwich City had a really outstanding season at the back?

2003/4?

The Woods, Watson and Bruce days?

And would you really expect the Suffolk Socialists to identify any long-term failing, let alone correct it?

And you can add cup performances to the list.

Big Vince does have his uses-at least we’ll all be able to test the Ignore button on the revamped message board.
