"Agree with this, I don''t disagree with the overall premise, but we are comparing one team which was probably the best club side in the world for a while at the peak of their powers."

From TWTD. He''s referring to Robson''s team.

Now on my (more frequent) visits to that forum I am used to the constant banging on about their history, but surely that takes the biscuit.

Best club side in the world. They didn''t even win the league.

Embarrassing.

They were a good side, but it is rose coloured spectacle time in the extreme if they think they were the best - their trophy cabinet would have a lot more in it if that were anywhere near true. In 1978 they were bang average but (deservedly on the day) won the FA Cup as overwhelming underdogs, the only other win was europe''s second tier tourney. No league titles, no European Cup wins (indeed, they never qualified for it) unlike Forest, Villa and Liverpool in that same era.

They constantly big themselves up.

All their youngsters are world beaters in the making.

If it wasn''t for their injuries they would be comfortably top six.

(as if no other side has them as well)

Oh and my favourite is "world famous."

Eh?
