curious yellow 184 Posted March 1, 2018 He''s here because of Spurs'' faith in our coaching. He is being made to work for his first team place so this was always on the cards plus he looks to have picked up an injury. Hopefully we should get a few quality performances at the end of the seasonOtherwise he''ll go back - either way it''s no big deal and was never made out to be so. Woodman 92 Posted March 1, 2018 I get that this is a no risk loan for us, but surely Spurs would have expected him to play a few games? Now that he is ''available'', maybe he''ll play in the U23s (unless Spurs don''t want that to happen), or at least be on the bench this weekend. Is his position the same as Maddison''s? or does he play deeper like Leitner?
Mello Yello 2,281 Posted March 1, 2018 The young lone loan from Spurs should have Maddison as his mentor......Who''ll show the young lone loan from Spurs, how a young model professional footballer should conduct himself.....
Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted March 1, 2018 Maddison was know for having an attitude problem when he was Edwards’ age. That is why he was sent to Aberdeen by Alex Neil. As for Edwards’ injury - Pochettino was asked about why Edwards wasn’t playing for Norwich on Tuesday at their pre-Rochdale presser. He said it was due to a back injury and Marcus had only recently started training. Bolton seems to have come a little too soon for him. Next U23s game might see him play or even a sub appearance against Barnsley (should that go ahead)

The Great Mass Debater 1,078 Posted March 3, 2018 Interesting that that video stream was against Dortmund. Perhaps Farke is the more involved of the two in this one and Edwards impressed someone at Dortmund and he came to Farke''s attention that way?
Samwam27 519 Posted March 4, 2018 Did he arrive injured, or did he get injured (although not sure how if he hasn''t played!)Not exactly getting our moneys worth out of this loan. With not a lot to play for remainder of season (won''t mention playoffs) he needs to play. If his attitude is still wrong we should sever the deal now as we gain absolutely nothing
FenwayFrank 2,457 Posted March 4, 2018 We don’t have to worry about getting our moneys worth, Spurs are still paying him
wcorkcanary 4,329 Posted March 4, 2018 If Edwards'' attitude problem'' is holding back his progress at spurs then sending him to us is a very good way to remind him that double training sessions are not the sole preserve of pochetino, DF is a nicely spoken disciplinarian. So Marcus, knuckle down, earn your place or your big attitude will see you playing in the lower leagues, don''t is your chance.Ps thanks keelans grand dad for kind co.ments in the Neymar thread, I''m still in hospital but on the mend and getting stronger. Bill 1,788 Posted March 4, 2018
We don’t have to worry about getting our moneys worth, Spurs are still paying him
I would think that is the caseSort this lad out and I would suggest another (less stroppy) will follow next seasonIt does also fit in with the way things are going ie finding promising youngsters and developing themLook at Lewis and Maddison. Gunn hasn''t lost out by being here, and there are quite a few other who have joined us when in their late teens. How many will break through next season ? Clint 221 Posted March 4, 2018 Maybe if we sort him out, he''ll be back with us all next season? If he''s as good as people are saying he is, then he could be a serious asset at this level next season. Particularly if Madders leaves.
Woodman 92 Posted March 5, 2018 From today''s press conf: "Marcus Edwards is not so far away. He could be an option pretty soon, but not for tomorrow. He still has to improve some topics."''...has to improve some topics'' could be anything: defensive awareness, fitness, attitude; all of the above...
