It’s actually not that straightforward, and a minimum investment of £500 if I’m reading correctly

The video they have released along with it is nothing short of bizarre. It’s like a Party Political Broadcast for a small party

Lots of sound bites (be among the first to invest! was particularly cringy) but also unrealistic- building a healthy, established Premier League team with players from the local area sounds great but is so out of touch with reality.

Not sure how many people are happy to part with £500 either

Didnt Huddersfield bin their Acadamy as soon as Webber left. Why is it so important to maintain the ststus. Where are the figures of running costs v transfer revenue / transfer fee saved.

We won the youth cup with an acadamy team, if Delias dream is a Prem team of local lads then should it not be thst following that ethis that cup winning team is now our first team.

Maybe we should be focusing elsewhere?

In fairness it’s not a bad rate of interest but what it really highlights very clearly is that we have owners who can’t really afford to run the club.

Their club when it comes to ownership, our club when it comes to funding it

Not really Jimbo because we choose if we want to fund it or not. It''s up to you buddy. Either do it if you want to. Or ignore it if you don''t. This is gonna be hard for you I know but the above scenario doesn''t really leave a lot of room to moan or feel hard done by. Of course you may prefer that the money came from a Chinaman rather than a Cityfan. Not sure why you would though...

How many fans honestly have £500 to invest at the drop of a hat?

By my fag packet maths they need to sell 7000 bonds to hit the £3.5mil mark - that seems a stretch

I’ve pre registered . A bond offering 5% for five year fixed is seriously bucking the money markets. If it is guaranteed then it is a no brainer. The disclaimer however seems to suggest it isn’t guaranteed ? So calling it a Bond is a bit odd?

I can’t quite see how this works . Anyone clever out there ?

Whist there are many valid points made in this thread feel it is a season too early to make them.

We are committed to Farke and his team for another season.

I anticipate it could get better, and sacking mangers mid-term i expensive and would put more strain on the finances.

If next season is more of the same then questions about those, from those from top top to bottom will need asking.

I’m not sure what the problem is with this. Either you want to be involved or not. I am sure there are plenty who go to Carrow Rd who could easily invest if they choose to.

Although the issue is very different I see a similarity between this and those who did not take their “Grant Holt Rebate”.

Those who are prepared to lose money for the possible greater good of the club and those who are not but feel that other people should.

At 5% per annum I''d have thought they''d raise the money comfortably. I know I''ve got money in dead accounts that are getting pitiful interest rates.

If Delia, MWJ, Michael Foulger, Stefan Philips, Tom Smith and Ed Balls put in £500K each the job would virtually be a good un. I just do not understand why the begging bowl is out.

I see it’s through Tifosy, not sure I’d trust Italian run bonds!

That aside it’s a good opportunity for fans to invest at a risk, I’m not sure how they can ring fence this, Purple might be able to shed more light.

The 5% must be against some form of performance measures, if we don’t sell many players over the next 5 years or relegated, building debt then I can’t see how you’d get any guarantees on that 5% per annum.

That aside it’s a good opportunity for fans to invest and put their money into the club. Or not it’s up to everyone to decide.

It’s a very good PR promotion put together by the club, will be interested to see how this will be taken up.

It’s a maybe from me, at 5% return it’s of interest.

Just been through the lonk, didn’t realise it’s a five year gamble, it’s a no from me, I’ll leave my money in aldermore gathering interest without any gamble.

Mixed feelings on this.

On the positive, the scheme is much better than I''d imagined. Fans can actually get something back from investing in it and aren''t just being asked to donate.

I''m interested to know how much the board themselves are putting in, as the press release indicated they would be.

Also worth remembering that £500 is a lot to people. I saw with the rebate when we got relegated to League One that some fans seemed to believe taking it made you a lesser supporter, would be a shame to see that happen again here.

On the negative side of things- it certainly highlights the poor financial management of the last few years that we never thought to set aside this relatively small (by Premier League terms) sum to upgrade infrastructure.

It also, again, makes me think the current ownership model isn''t sustainable. At some point the owners surely have to look at the fact they don''t have the money needed to run a club like this if they can''t even afford this without needing help from fans.

Predictably the usual suspects find reason to criticise! As with any investment, you need to read the small print but the 5% + other benefits look very attractive financially and highly competitive. I''d be very surprised if does not raise the money required, which will no doubt disappoint those that want us to lose Cat 1 status so that they can criticise the club further. [:(]

So not only did they waste the money on the playing front, they left the infrastructure of the training facilities not fit for purpose and now our esteemed owners want, you the fans, to pay for the training facility''s whilst they remain solely in control and enjoy all the benefits that brings. Lets not have anymore of this "we are lucky to have them" rubbish because a club that has had our financing and fan support, that can not raise £3.5m is being very poorly run and needs new owners.

Frankly embarrassing

Predictably those that can see no wrong in cult Delia will post predictable posts about those with massive concerns over the appalling running of our club, using it to show how they are not true supporters. YAWN

I quite like this idea, what investment doesn''t come with risk. As long as you can afford to lose the money I can''t see any problem.

The stock market is currently over valued and I can''t see you getting a 5% return on the housing market for the next 5 years.

What better way to invest your money, than in something that you love ;)

[:(][/quote]It seems quite a well-judged scheme, in that it is aimed at various categories. Some "ordinary" fans (including posters here) will be able to afford 500 pounds, perhaps feeling that the idea of boosting the academy outweighs any risk of the investment not working out as planned. Richer fans can give considerably more. From dim memory I think there is a class of "director" (associate perhaps?) that pays for mainly non-existent privileges. This could attract that type of fan or corporate body.

Why invest in a business where the owners have failed on all fronts? Their history shows that they can not be trusted to do the right thing on the pitch and now we find the true depth of incompetence off the field.

I''ll investment (more) when we have owners that I trust and you are competent.

I also have mixed feelings. On the one hand:

1. Its a form of investment into the club and an area of the club that will be important;

2. Its not compulsory for any fan or business;

3. The rate of return as an investment is reasonable even if it is unsecured and thus there is a degree of risk.

However, when it comes to who owns/controls the club its clear its them, its their club and they will do with it what they want with it even if "the fans won''t like it." Yet when it comes to the cost of running the club its once again clear those owners are unable to sustain it and/or not willing to pick up the tab anymore.

I cannot just accept the continued "yes we made mistakes in the past" line and "move on" unquestionably. Same board pretty much as when we were in the prem and it is a massive, massive error that these improvements were not done then when this sum of money could have been found easily.

Ultimately our owners have been repaid all their interest free loans (as they are entitled to be - although interesting these were not converted to shares like previous loans) and we will have replaced that funding with £3.5m of external money which the club needs to pay interest on. Again its entirely their preprogative but most owners of championshop football clubs have funded infrastructure or would just make the loan themselves.

I also think the fact we are having to resort to this raises questions about our ability to raise finance through other means.

If the club were a real "community club" with the fans having a genuine and meaningful stake in its ownership then i think i would feel different but when it comes to ownership and control its treated as "their club" yet when it suits them or it comes to funding things we are a "community club."

For that reason i won''t be investing.
