Salopian 1 Posted January 26, 2018 Seems a good move, to Holland. Gives him experience and further development, in place of sitting on the bench watching German players here.
Crafty Canary 490 Posted January 26, 2018 This is good news. Young players in the Netherlands are trained to analyse and solve in-play problems rather than look to the touch line for the coach to tell them what to do. Todd should come back to us as a more mature player.
AJ 1,218 Posted January 26, 2018 Supposedly very technical football they play over there. He certainly needs some first team time if he''s going to break into the team next season. Good luck to him!
Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted January 26, 2018 Sending young players to Holland has had mixed results for Chelsea. The league is pretty slow and not too physical so not particularly similar to the Championship - but first team football is what Cantwell really needs now and if he can get a string of games under his belt it would do him the world of good.Fortuna are managed by Sunday Oliseh, who knew a thing or too about the more physical side of the game at least. Woodman 92 Posted January 26, 2018 as someone has said on Twitter, perhaps they have someone who we''ve got our eye on. Christopher Braun - a German right back apparently plays for them. I''m completely plagiarising someone''s tweets by the way.
AJ 1,218 Posted January 26, 2018 I think it was Paddy who suggested it might be likely that Cantwell is potentially a sweetner for some kind of deal so we''ll wait and see Woodman!
Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted January 26, 2018 The sporting director at Fortuna was studying in Liverpool when Webber was there. Guessing that is the connection. Rather than this idea that clubs loan other clubs players as ''sweetners''.
The Great Mass Debater 1,071 Posted January 27, 2018 What drugs do players get tested for? I know he''s not going to Amsterdam, but let''s say a young man in another country gets bored one night or bows to peer pressure and decides to have a little shmoke, would he get in trouble? STFU 0 Posted February 23, 2018 Don''t get too excited about him improving very much while he''s playing in the Dutch league-remember RVW?
Herman 9,585 Posted February 23, 2018 For every RVW there is a Suarez. [:D] I''d rather see him out getting experience, learning his trade and a bit of a different footballing culture. Good luck to him, it might not work out but it''s worth doing.

Rock The Boat 1,290 Posted February 24, 2018 ‘Cannabinol is a degradation product of cannabis, which occurs in hashish and hemp. Ebi Smolarek has already launched an appeal, as the substance is also found in various foods and chocolate bars sold in health food shops, which he does eat,’ explains Swart. Smolarek’s lawyer E. Vrijman will base his appeal on a slew of scientific articles published by some of the world’s most respected academic journals, which show that consumption of only a small quantity of food and chocolate bars containing hempseed or hempseed oil are sufficient to test positive in a drug test. ‘Smolarek does use such products,’ acknowledges Swart. ‘What’s more he eats them a lot.’So he didn''t inhale but he did get the munchies.
