Farke out

Playing this kind of game takes time to perfect, and I''ve seen enough so far to be optimistic and remain patient.

Some have said they are optimistic but have neglected to point out why.

I think its a little hard to take the Farke Out cries seriously because this is the third time theres been a poor run or whatever and its started to kick off a bit. Problem is no one has really kept it up through our good runs which is what makes it hard to take seriously.

If you put that together with the fact that Webber has made it clear we are only part way through a massive and fundamental change at the club from the bottom up and the inconsistencies start to make a bit more sense.

''this is the third time theres been a poor run''

Clue to why people are losing patience with him might be there....

Webber said at the outset it will take several transfer windows to bring in the right players to allow Farke time to build a team capable of competing for promotion. I agree that made sense, especially as Farke had never coached at this level before.

Farke often says after the game that they were well aware of the threat posed by the opposition, and had talked about it during training. In particular he talks about preventing the ball coming into our box and winning second balls. Today was another example of not closing players down, allowing the ball to come into our box too easily, and not winning any second balls; not to mention the ball watching by most of our players.

The style we play at the moment with plenty of passing and slow build up is predictable and makes it easy for the opposition. Farke cannot seem to make his mind up about playing 3 or 4 at the back. Our forwards don''t appear to have any confidence in front of goal. The head coach seems reluctant to make any early substitutions to try and change the game. With nothing to play for today he could have started with Raggett and Edwards, but he didn''t. Injuries to promising players like Trybul, Leitner, Hernandez and Stiepermann have not helped his cause.

Patience is a virtue, but it is difficult to keep the faith when you cannot see much evidence of any real progress, or that the coach is not learning from his mistakes.

This summer we will offload further players to lower the wage bill. Farke will have loan players returning and hopefully some new players. He will have had a season in the Championship, he will have his own squad and the ball will firmly be in his court. I would expect to see a real improvement on the performances this season.

You admit yourself we''ve had 3 poor runs this season and we''ve still some difficult games to come. Maddison''s goals have masked what have been largely slow tedious displays, and without them we would be in a relegation battle. We probably have the worst strikers in the league and are starting to leak goals again. It''s hard to be surprised fans are getting peed off. This is the 3rd dire season in a row with no reason to think the next will be any better, unless you''ve seen something different to me?

Hampton - Farke already has his own squad. There isn’t going to be any large overhaul this summer. The majority of next seasons squad is already here.

What? Wes, Tettey, Leitner, Gunn, Reed are not likely to wear the city shirt after this season.

And Oliveira isn’t good enough to wear it!

No large overhaul? Really. I suggest there will be, simply to replace those listed!

i think we have the players at the club to be higher up the table but Webber / Farke are not getting the best out of them

the Tactics we play and where we play most of the match around the half way line is very hard for the strikers to get chances

i think a more direct style up and at them Warnock style manager would have produced better results

Webver doesn''t coach the team so I have no idea how he should be getting more out of the players.

Farke has only survived thus far because he got lucky with having Maddison. Without his goals and assists we would now be in a relegation battle and Farke would have been out the door months ago.

Oh God, that dreadful logic rears its ugly head again. How the hell did he get lucky? He had a good player with plenty of potential, so he played him, and the player repayed the faith shown.

In any event, if you want to listen to French chanson then Barbara is a much better choice.

It would appear that Farke has learnt nothing in the time he has been here. Today he talks about not having enough possession we had 57% to  their 43% with their 43% they scored 4 goals with our 57% possession we scored none. Comparethis to the  Millwall game earlier in the season when the possession stats were - if I remember correctly - Millwall 25%   Norwich 75% with their 25% possession they scored 4 goals with our 75% possession we scored yes nil. You would think that a manager in charge of a professional team would know its goals that count not possession. You could have 97% possession and still lose by the odd goal.

And along with Wes, Tettey, Leitner, Gunn, Reed and Oliveira that  were mentioned Klose and Maddison are likely to go, also there is Martin, Naismith and Wildschut to sort out to when they return. That is 11 players, so anyone who thinks another big change wont happen this summer is kidding themselves. Yes the last 2 windows had big changes, but the job is far from done yet, much comings and goings this close season ahead.

It''s only going to get harder as funds dry up too. We might get a reasonable sum for Maddison and Klose, but to bring in a goalkeeper in the calibre of Gunn, centre back as good as Klose, midfielders as good as Maddison, Leitner and Tettey (and potentially Wes), plus bring in a goal scoring striker on a shoe strong budget is going to be nothing short of a miracle.

It''s going to be another window of downgrading, and that''s absolutely fine, as long as, as a team, we can at least fight for the top 6 next season. The dreamer in me wants to believe, but at the moment the realist inside me knows that''s highly unlikely given we''ll probably have a weaker squad than we do now.

Back to Farke, sure he''s made mistakes this season, but in reality I don''t think we are in a position to waste money on shaping and changing manager given the giant overhaul last year. Maybe it''ll come good next season, it probably won''t, but I don''t think we''ll be bad enough to get relegated so that''s something I guess

It was summed up by a fan next to me today when Matt Smith beat his man with a piece of skill that you would not be surprised to see from Maddison, and the fan shouted out to the team in general "Even that f...ing carthorse is taking the pi$$ out of you"
Totally agree he must go before next season ,managing a reserve team in Germany is not good enough to step up to the championship apart from maddison and sometimes Gunn the rest of squad are not up to championship football. Wes and klose have been up and down .

If we keep farke sell Maddison and Gunn returns to city we will be here next season mid table .the fans who were there today deserve much better
The way things are going, it will be an absolute miracle if we are mid table next season.

If you can see what Farke is trying to do then we need to give him at least another season. He only need a few more players and to give the team a little tune up.
I''m not sure I really see what he''s trying to do to be honest. It might be suited to mid table Bundesliga, but as to getting promoted from the Championship then I don''t see with his tactics we will ever win enough games. He''s not a good fit for this league.
Farke is trying to get us to play similar to Swansea under Brendan Rogers, so all this talk of not being able to play a possession game and be promoted is wrong in my view.Trying to do it on a budget with half the team being new players is a real challenge. I appreciate some don''t like possession football and would prefer a direct game, but I''d say the dissatisfaction is more because we aren''t performing consistently than the style per se.
I have nothing at all against possession football as long as, on the odd occasion, we threaten the opposition box by passing the ball forward, getting players in the box and putting in some crosses. there is no point whatsoever in possession for the sake of possession. There has to be a reason and an end product, otherwise what''s the point. You don''t win anything by merely having more possession than the opposition.

This has possibly been the most depressing season ever. Particularly for home fans.

The season is nearly over and we still can’t defend. This after all has been our weakness for the last three years.

And we can’t score goals.

Maybe all the tearing apart of the squad and building afresh will come good in the end but there is little on offer to help me feel optimistic about next season.

However on the booing front I’m pretty pleased at how that’s gone over the last 9 months.

Correction. The Suffolk Socialists have taken us backwards.

Why are their still fans who are reluctant to point the finger in the correct direction??

The club is being run simply to keep the Suffolk Socialists ownership of it intact. Nothing else matters.

The next move in securing their position will be the sale of Maddison.

it is frustrating, as the season draws to a close to reflect on how what we''ve essentially done is rip up a team that scored the joint highest goals in the league that couldn''t defend, and overhauled them into a team that has scored the 3rd lowest goals in the league... that still can''t defend

I think most right minded fans agree it''s been a pig 🐷 of a season

If I bought into the plan I would write it off and look forward to next season but Webber is clearly an incompetent buffoon. I just hope someone comes in for him soon.

Worse even than the rodent season

Reduce the wage bill by removing the high earners and bring in players on a lower wage. Which direction do you think we will go with that policy?

Many good points here but I still think Norwich FC are going nowhere with Farke & Webber and we should cut and find a new more skilled management team. We will have to do it sooner or later.
