The R Word

Relegation. We are not too big, we are not too good.

It’s all well trying to stick with the current system but if we do not wake up we will sleepwalk into a relegation battle.

We can play different players every week but we are stuck to this rigid, slow, laboured build up which is embarrassingly easy to defend against - the Preston keeper has one save to make. The Barnsley keeper not much more.

Farke needs to realise that this league will swallow up any team that thinks they are too good to go down. The system needs to change to be more direct, get the ball forward quicker, get players out wide delivering crosses.

Next up Cardiff and Leeds away and Sheff Weds at home. Can''t see anything but nil points out of that lot. The R word is very much a possibility.

We''re far too good for relegation this season.

After that run I’d have agreed with you. At that point with the players we had to return I was thinking we’re pushing for the play offs here. But facts are facts, we can’t buy a win at home and the away form was never going to last. We started the season looking like a team that will flirt with relegation and now we’re back there.

If this form is the normal and that run the exception then we’re bang in trouble

If we manage to scrape 3 points over our next 3 games that would mean a likely 56 points total, probably enough to avoid relegation, but if the poor run continues we are in big trouble. With the play-offs now seeming a pipe dream, and no hope of promotion, in all probability we will have to sell in January to start to balance the books in time for 2018/19. I wouldn''t take anything for granted to be honest.

Think it''ll peter out into midtable mediocrity and actually, provided we clear a few big earners and blood some youngsters, i''m fine with it. At least we know we are gonna fall short and we''re not gonna spend January rejecting good offers for the likes of Oliveira. Hopefully Raggett, Godfrey and Morris come back in Jan and we have 3 players there for nothing to reinforce the squad in areas that are particularly short of quality.

We''re closer to the playoffs than the bottom 3 and the playoffs feel a mile away.

We look about as midtable as you could possibly look.

We don''t look capable of being better than midtable. Hopefully we will improve as players return. But it''s all a million miles from what we were watching last season.

Wevshould have just enough to stay up this season but once our remaining championship level players are sold over the next two windows, relegation is nailed on for 2019. What a fiasco.

Very true unfortunately!

The team is so unbalanced with no width playing Hoolahan out of position, Not enough protection for back 4, lack of penetration, continually playing the ineffective Vrancic, no threat in the oppositions penalty box and goal and way too slow to build attacks!

We''ve been lucky to get two draws in the last two home games against two poor sides!

This is relegation form and most of this has to be blamed on Farkes tactical ineptness!
