a1canary 0 Posted January 12, 2004 It might seem ridiculous to suggest this given our recent history as away-day push overs but......at home, since the signings we''ve been poor against Forest and shocking against Bradford. While away from home we''ve looked solid and dangerous on the break (Ipswich, Derby, Everton - minus Iwan''s pens!). The pressure on us at home is huge now. Especially on the new signings. They know that ever since they have arrived people are talking of the Prem, and that basically they are expected to take us there! Sure there are other good players to help us do it but they are supposedly the ones that are going to make the difference. It must affect them. But going away from home, they don''t have 16,000 fans, soon to be 24,000, baying for three points from the off, Henderson doesn''t have the snake pit jeering at him and the focus is on the home team while we are confident in the knowledge that we always have a chance when Malky can donkey it into the channels for Hucks and Leon to chase on the break. Hell, all we need is Ian Culverhouse as sweeper and we''ll be the premiership away-day specialists of old! Just a theory like!
no1canary 0 Posted January 13, 2004 lets hope so hey but keep the home record up at the same time!
Away Day Specialist 0 Posted January 13, 2004 Almost missed my cue.Totally agree A1, however I would rather turn up to carrow road with high expectations, and be disapointed rather than how things were a few years back. It was a miserable walk from the county hall car park to the ground knowing that you were in for a scrappy relegation fuelled dog fight which we more often than not lost out in. (this obviously only really refers to the recent Div 1 campaign). At least now we know that we could be in for a spectacle and treat every home game, who would have thought that we would have turned over cardiff in that fashion for example.Away from home there seems to be little pressure on the team. We are well know for being a soft touch away, and I believe that teams under estimate us now. Not so long ago 4-0 was a popular away defeat. What horrible times they were....
