I honestly have no idea who Greavsy is in real life and have no reason to want to. Tbh, I really don’t care about any of the hidey snideys. Just makes me laugh when they look up a Facebook profile or twitter or whatever. The difference between them and I is that I have published various things under my own name, on various websites, in different publications etc etc

It means I’m willing to be accountable and that my opinion is there to be shot at. My opinion is no better than anybody else’s but I do - used to - offer it up and was willing to take the inevitable abuse.

It’s been a while since I had to bat away the Man U connotations on here but...

Duncan Edwards was a fantastic footballer. One of the youngest to ever be capped by his nation and many believe had he survived it would have been he and not Bobby Moore that lifted the JRT.

However, I was born some 20 years after the original Dunc lost his fight for life and given my parents were both born in the eighteen months prior to that fateful night in Munich, I don’t think it made enough of a lasting impression to influence the name of their first born.

If you’re that interested, Nutty Nigel wanted me to be named Martin Peter Edwards after the Norwich legend and World Cup winner. Mother dearest saw through this and vetoed the suggestion. My Paternal grandmother was keen on Toby but again this was dismissed; Dad suggested Duncan. After a certain centre half that played for our club.

With no connection made, it was agreed and so I was cursed with forever being associated with Manchester United and being booked by referees that thought I was taking the piss when they asked my name.

As a kid I’d often see Duncan Forbes at the club shop or around the ground and I was Little Dunc to his Big Dunc. They’re fond memories.

So there you have it. That’s the how/why/whatever of how I got my name. It’s 100% Norwich City but buys me a free pass at Old Trafford too.

I named my first born son after a member of the Prodigy, my second after an LG and my daughter just has a pretty name because she is.

As I said, and meant it Duncan, there was no malice in the question, so please understand that. I obviously was not around when Duncan was playing and I also am aware of the esteem with which he was held throughout the football world. I guess tbh, you must be really fed up with the question but your explanation is great. Fair play Nutty, good on you (although I love the Martin Peters slant on it, legend) anyway, guess its bed time now, at the end of the day we all want the best for City and (OK, tin hat on), I felt the vindictiveness to a poster was uncalled for and hence my reaction!

Genuinely, have a great 2018, I may post from time to time but rarely have time to now. (And they all went, ''Thank God!'')!
