Turkey for Xmas,New Years Day Players for Delia.

Recommended Posts

Team picked today was to to save Delia embarrassment again on Monday,( like last home match ). What a ridiculous state this club has got in.
Are you suggesting Delia picked the team today? Crikey, I''d like her to sell up and retire to somewhere she can''t do anymore damage but this is a bit far fetched
It was picked to save her embarrassment again on Monday by her employees, Webber or farke.

Herman - The suggestion is that Farke is keeping his best players fresh for the home game against Millwall, to avoid another Brentford type performance/result and the associated response from the home crowd. If that is the case then I am gutted that is what my club has become, you would have thought that another three points and a bit of momentum going into the Millwall game was preferable to a dour performance and another two pints dropped.........

Very well quoted - correct.

Or was it because millwall have had extra rest time so the manager wanted his strongest team as fresh as possible while fielding a team he thought could beat burton today?

He got it wrong by the way and if we lose against millwall the home support won''t be happy

But to save his own job rather than not to embarrass Delia. Other scenarios to think about though. He presumed Burton would be an easier game, and as he had 2 games in 3 days thought that would be the better game to rest players. Personally speaking I don''t feel he showed enough respect to the oppo, and rested too many.He also put faith into the players within the whole squad. That some didn''t repay that faith doesn''t bode well for them. I can''t see Husband or Watkins getting many more games unless they seriously buck their ideas up.He also wants a bit of revenge on Millwall, so wants his best team out, fresh and ready.
Or was it because millwall have had extra rest time
Just for the recordMillwall have played 3 games in 6 days (23rd, 26th, 29th)We have played 3 games in 8 days (22nd, 26th, 30th)
When was the last game played? Rest time, since last game.
Yes I know that but overall we have had it easier in terms of fixtures/days than Millwall have.

how? Have we played the same teams? Have we got the same squads? Why not look at it over the whole season then or all of December or even back to the previous game?

The only thing that matters is rest time since last competitive game, if you want to look at it any other way carry on its got nothing to do with tomorrow''s game

DDD

Not sure how old you are but in the old days players played on pitch''s that resembled a ploughed field and still managed 3 games over Xmas.

Perhaps The Tour de France, Wimbledon etc should have 4 day breaks between stages and matches.

Poor tired footballers having to play twice a week

I can understand rotating the squad with so many games in a short space of time, but I think Farke showed his inexperience again, the Championship is a tough league, and you underestimate teams at your peril. We got an away point which is great, but really we should have been looking at all three to build on the way win at Birmingham and to build some momentum going into the Millwall game, my concern is that the team will now go into that game under pressure to get a positive result.......

100% he got it wrong, had we have won the 6 changes wouldn''t really have been mentioned, as it was a draw has put more pressure on things, it was a gamble that didn''t pay off, doesn''t change the fact of why he did it though

If we were targeting one of the two games for three points then the obvious one to target was Burton. We were coming off the back of an away win and our form away has been decent this season. A win against Burton would have increased the gap over them and built momentum going into the Millwall game.

@DDD and @JF......At least Farke admitted it was a gamble which you might agree is open and honest. He therefore concedes he has made a decision that didn''t go to plan ( fully). Some managers don''t even admit such stuff. I agree it puts massive pressure on the Milwall game. And I''m never completely comfortable against their type of game plan or ex players out to make a point. But....he had a strategy and it didn''t quite work. I don''t think now we are anywhere near challenging for the play offs but do hope we can get a settled team and spine (where the glaring gap is the striking department) and compete strongly each week.
