Wynnie Misses Boat Again

Recommended Posts

So there we have it! Wynnie has missed the boat again. Middlesbrough have snapped up the boy Pulis.

Boro are in exactly the same position as Norwich last season, but instead of waiting another 3 months (when it is too late) to sack the boy Monk they have done it now to give themselves the best chance of getting back to the EPL at the first attempt. And they have brought in the boy who is one of the best operators in domestic football.

Why is it that our competitors look to bring in the best in the business to get the job done whereas we seem to think there is some advantage to be gained by taking this contrarian approach by going for untried and untested rookie managers? After all, no one wants Ryan Giggs do they? But we always seem to go for this type.

Is it that Allardyce, Bruce, Pulis, Warnock would just be too big in personality for Wynnie? Socialists like easily controllable types.

Let''s not forget too that the boy Rowett was available all the time when Neil was failing last season, yet Wynnie made no move. Anyone seen where Derby are now???

Mike Walker 1 was top of the league with Colchester when he was sacked so he was tried and tested at Divi 4 level at least.

Stringer was a club stalwart. End of.

No, because the Suffolk Socialists will take it as vindication that everything is dory hunky when we all know they have an agenda to downsize the club massively.

What is the point of Pritchard if he is going to be sold to the EPL at the first available opportunity?

That’s a major coup for Boro, like or loath him and his ‘style’, to get a manager with his pedigree to drop down to the Championship shows intent. From his point of view I’d have thought a PL team would have soon been knocking. It will be interesting to see how it works out as I’m sure most people would agree that Pulis plus cash in this league is likely to get promoted.

Could have been like Birmingham''s owners I suppose. Getting rid of Rowett was the best thing they ever did. Look how he has coked up Derby as well.

Wow that’s a big accusation! If it’s proven to be true I’d imagine there will be some hefty fines and suspensions handed out 😂

Well, Vince, if you were the majority owner and one of the minor directors asked you that question what kind of an answer do you think you would give?

Or could it be that Pulis wanted £2m a year, a huge transfer fund and a promotion bonus, none of which we could afford?

Sit back and watch how much he spends in January....

To be fair, boro aren''t in exactly the same situation as we were, same place maybe, but they have thrown a lot of money at players with a new manager and pulled the trigger after 4 months, we had a manager who had got us promoted and was running with roughly the same team wed cone come down with... Also, as someone else has said, we wouldn''t be willing to pay as much as pulis demands.

F**k dinosaurs like Tony Pulis. His football is disgusting, and even though it gets results I wouldn''t want him anywhere near the club. And even if we did appoint Pulis, I''m sure people would still be castigating D&M for having dispensed with their plan so soon. If Farke does run out of rope, we need to appoint another manager with a desire to play football on the deck.

And wasn’t Monk dedicated to Boro. Sacked because he cancelled his pre match press conference! And why couldn’t he do the press conference? Shame for him that Gibson found out - he was talking to Swansea about returning there!

So if Monk had been as dedicated as he states, Pulis would still be looking!!

Maybe these so called big managers do not fit in with a family club like norwich.we tend to go with managers who will do a ok job with little fuss, nothing wrong in that.

I would agree with the premise behind the minor director''s question and I would turn around and tell him that as I am a pauper owner I intend to sell out to the highest bidder (regardless of nationality) (unlike the xenophobic Wynnie) so that there is no need to sell the boy and we can then actually start to build a team around the boy.

It''s called putting the club before individual interest. Of course this would have to come with a health warning that the new owner may or may not live up to expectations. But risk is unavoidable in any business.

Oh Pompous one,

NCFC had already made it clear that we will have a £7m overdraft next summer. In addition we will have to pay the expensive wages (and national insurance contributions) of players like Naismith, Jarvis etc next season then it is highly likely we will be selling one if not two players to fund the above and Pritchard may be one of them.

Enjoy the downsizing!
