Selling club

Recommended Posts

If which looks likely we sell Pritchard ,then Madison and possibly Josh ,it would rip the heart out of the team just as things were looking up .such a shame we are a selling club ,just hope we get some replacements but got a feeling will try to struggle by on what we have got .

Was feeling hopeful for the rest of the season.

Not to worry, we have Naismith, Jarvis and Wes to replace those three without anyone else.

Players leave football clubs. Hate to tell you...but it happens. Especially with young, talented, British players. We won''t lose all of them just yet. Let''s try and enjoy the rest of the season.

Two words ... food chain.

Not so long ago we were cherry picking Howson, Pilkington, Morison, Maddison etc from clubs beneath us and not complaining.

I''m just pleased that we have valuable assets and can reinvest the cash from their sales in our rebuild when they move on. It is a far stronger position to be in compared to where we were walking home from the 1-7 Colchester game!

There are about 30 British clubs that can cherry pick our players. There are about 60 that we can cherry pick their. Buy and sell wisely that where we need to get much better and short term we have dropped a few places down the pecking order no point moaning it is what it is a few years ago it was the other way around with pilkington

But by selling him it allows them to keep James Milner.

I reckon curious eyes from ''bigger clubs'' were also admiring our young Mr Lewis on Saturday evening.......

And Godfrey on Sunday. (No that isn''t a new chat show for Channel 4)

We surely should hold on to our top players until at least the end of the season and give it a real go to get into the top six

The daft thing is, you have to go back to Bellamy prior to Murphy for our last academy product to really make big money.

We’d have to improve our standard of youth players to carry on this self sufficient model, as stated it might be a damn site harder to attract the next Maddison to come here as there’s a dozen teams in this division who will pay more and look like a better prospect moving forward.

So it begs the question for the long term to become self sufficient, do we need to trim the running requirements and wage budget of around 12 million a year?

I don’t know how much turnover we’ll have next season, Will it be around the 20 million without any player sales?

It’s going to be a tough old summer regardless of player sales.
