lake district canary 4,531 Posted January 12, 2018 With Pritchard now presumably gone and Naismith probably going, it is time for others to step up their game. Two players come to mind - Stiepermann (whose best position is reportedly as an attacking midfielder) and Vrancic.. Both have shown glimpses of real quality this season - but not enough or consistently, as yet. Stiepermann had a strong start and in the game I saw against Sheff Utd, he was excellent (albeit at LB). Vrancic we know has real quality in his technique, but is still to find his best game yet. As attacking midfielders, they need to chip in with the odd goal and both are capable of that. Wes of course is capable of stepping in too, but is not a longer term solution. As long as we keep Maddison at least for the rest of the season, we have enough to do well, but Vrancic and Stiepermann are now key figures. We need them to do well and prove they have adapted to the Championship, let''s hope whoever is picked on Saturday, they show they have done just that.
