Guest Posted January 15, 2018 If he plays and does well its a good signing and if he either bench warms or isn''t up to it, it will be a poor signing. Are we allowed to send him back early if it doesn''t work out? Because I would hate to see one of our own youngsters miss out.
Guest Posted January 15, 2018 "He is rated as one of the biggest talents in English football but will need some time to adapt to a new surrounding and to the physical game in the Championship.I''ve just read that quote from DF so he doesn''t look like an immediate starter. Diane 500 Posted January 15, 2018 Really excited about this lad, the Spurs fans think it''s a real coup for us & everything you read about him is good.
Rock The Boat 1,325 Posted January 15, 2018 A chance for the lad to adjust his alleged attitude problems and get to work in a young Norwich squad. It''s a no-lose for Norwich. If he can do the business we get the benefits, if he can''t then we return to sender with no loss to ourselves.Too many temptations for youngsters in London, good to ship them out the the countryside for a stretch and concentrate on getting his career on track. Also, this loan might mean top clubs recognising what Farke is trying to achieve with young players and sending their potential stars down here. Could be interesting times.

TIL 1010 4,722 Posted January 15, 2018 Found this on another website so not making any judgement on the lad before being accused of being a negative Nancy.......Pochettino also made the unusual step of talking about the teenager ''having behavioural issues and problems with authority'' in his recently-published book ''Pochettino''s Spurs - A Brave New World''. ron obvious 1,501 Posted January 15, 2018 Had a dekko at the obligatory youtube compilation & he does look a touch raw; bags of skill though. Definitely not the finished article.Certainly wouldn''t want to chuck him in against the Neanderthals that are Sheffield United!

nutty nigel 7,509 Posted January 16, 2018 The truth behind Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Marcus Edwards'' loan moveto Norwich CityThe talented teenager has made the switch to the Championship club. ByAlasdair GoldTottenham Hotspur Correspondent20:19, 15 JAN 2018UPDATED21:52, 15 JAN 2018 The loan move which has takenTottenham Hotspur teenager Marcus Edwards to Norwich City couldend up being the perfect move for all parties. The 19-year-old is one of the most talented English teenagers yet tomake a Premier League appearance and while loan moves were turned down in thesummer the switch to the Canaries until the send of the season appears to havecome at just the right time.Clubs from across England, Germany, the Netherlands and the MLS were allvying for Edwards'' signature during this January window, but Norwich andEdwards seem to be the perfect fit.Anyone who has watched Edwards play for Tottenham''s U23s andU19s will talk of a player who can dribble past players with ease, has an eyefor a goal and whips in dangerous free-kicks and corners. They may also tell you that despite having that low centre of gravity,he can occasionally get muscled out of games and drift out of the action.Edwards has been working on thelatter this season and a loan move into the physical Championship will onlyimprove his battling qualities as he comes up against experienced olderdefenders and midfielders. For his manager Mauricio Pochettino, the loan move perhaps marks an acceptance that his handling of Edwards hasn''t quite met the levelsof his development of other young academy players at the club since his arrivalin 2014.The Argentine admitted last monththat comparing Edwards to a young Lionel Messi in2016 was an error. "Maybe I made a mistake. I believed it was positive and he wasgoing to take it in a positive way. When you’re young, sometimes you need moretime. Sometimes you stop your evolution. We still trust in him," the Spursboss said."No, I’m not going to talk about [questions over the player''sattitude]. It’s about performance. Of course he needs to work hard likedifferent players that we have in the academy, and wait for the opportunity. It’s never easy, the last step, to join the first team from the academy."Pochettino also made the unusual step of talking about the teenager''having behavioural issues and problems with authority'' in hisrecently-published book ''Pochettino''s Spurs - A Brave New World''.Despite questions about his workethic, Edwards has knuckled down this seasonand has plundered plenty of goals in the Premier League 2 and UEFA YouthLeague. The player has been champing at the bit, waiting for a chance to playalongside the senior stars, but Pochettino has not obliged, passing upopportunities to use him in Carabao Cup matches against Barnsley and West Hamas well as the dead rubber Champions League clash against Apoel Nicosia atWembley.Edwards'' development squad team-matesKazaiah Sterling and Luke Amos were named in the squad for that European match, with Sterling coming off the bench late on for his first team debut. Illness and a minor injury over the festive period meant Edwards was notin contention to be selected for the FA Cup ties against AFC Wimbledon, even ifPochettino had given him the nod.The return of Erik Lamela from hislong-term hip problems and the form of Heung-Min Son have also lessenedPochettino''s need or desire to throw Edwards into the fray. Ten bright minutes against Gillinghamin the League Cup at White Hart Lane in 2016 remains the only first teamaction Edwards has seen for TottenhamHotspur. That is why the loan move to Norwich comes at perfect time. The teenagerwill be able to prove to Pochettino that he can cut it with senior players andthat he''s got the work ethic to handle first team football and the attitude todeal with all the ups and downs that come with it.For Norwich, they are taking a chance with an untried youngster but heis a player landed amid plenty of interest from across the continent and theAtlantic. In Edwards they have snapped up aincredibly skillful player who could fill the gap left, somewhat ironically, byanother talented former Spurs academy product who struggled to break throughunder Pochettino - Alex Pritchard. Pritchard, who moved to Huddersfieldthis week in an £11m move, was hindered by an ankle injury gained oninternational duty which set him back at Spurs. Edwards suffered a similar problem inlate 2016 during a training session with the first team, which interrupted hisown progress. Edwards will need a little time to adapt to life in the Championship, but if he can set the Championship alight this season and help the Canariesback up into contention for promotion to the Premier League, Pochettino willhave to sit up and take notice once again and he could end up with the MarcusEdwards he dreamed of back in 2016.https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/marcus-edwards-tottenham-norwich-loan-14159786

ROBFLECK 132 Posted January 16, 2018 Like DCB said ... just a sweetener before Madders is sold!!! Our two best players are going to be sold in this window and I expect this boy to be the " Harry Kane''esque -loan siging" , remember?Let''s face it ... he''s probably not bad , but he won''t give his all 4 NCFC , just like Harry Kane didn''t while he was here
Guest Posted January 16, 2018 Everything in DoubleN''s post is pretty positive about him playing for us.I just hope DF throws him in straight away. We don''t need this bull about settling in to the Championship. The only way he can do that is to play and take the knocks and disappointments, but hopefully shine and take us to a new level. However, I do believe we are going to have to make use of any new attacking skills and get more up the pitch when we attack.
