1. We often struggle to beat dour well-organised teams. Well, we didn''t really learn anything from that, as that''s been a City trait for the 30 years I''ve been watching them.2. Daniel Farke doesn''t realise that you''re allowed to make a substitution before the 70th minute.3. We''re very much a work in progress.4. That work in progress could go either way.5. We''ll have learnt enough to make a meaningful judgement about the team''s prospects for the season by the end of October. Though if we capitulate like we did at Millwall and Villa at Bramall Lane on Saturday then we can probably make that judgement earlier.

On another day with the same team and tactics we''d have won that game. My only criticism is that we didn''t seem to have a plan B for when plan A didn''t look like it was going to work. We certainly could have asked more difficult questions of the opposition although much of our poor showing can be attributed to our ineffectual finishing. Roll on Saturday.
