Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Season 11 Week 8

Recommended Posts

So once again just a 1-1 draw scuppered the six. That''s how close Mr Angry was to adding £100 to the pot. The last two weeks have been as unlucky as it gets. So don''t lose heart PUPs the next win is surely very close.
I think just one more corner in the first half would have seen a return for Indy. 0-0 at home is always tough. We''ll be winning on this again soon too.

I honestly didn''t expect a 0-0 result, and sadly when that happens, it screws up any picks involving goalscorers in the process as well [:(]I still think they were a great selection of picks from our PuP''s though, just sorry that myself and Mr Angry couldn''t add to the pot further on this occasion, onwards and upwards though [:)]

I should have played safer and gone with more foreign matches, I was worried about the Charlton and Luton games as the English leagues tend to be more competitive. Oh well, there''s always next week!

Yes, my instincts the previous week were to stick with foreign matches, but I gave in to the odds on the Aberdeen match.  Maybe the disparity between top and bottom in european leagues is greater and results easier to pick?

It can be, some leagues have a couple of good teams and the gulf between top and bottom is a lot larger than the English leagues - but that said, Football will always be a funny game where odd results happen and an accumulator is always as much luck as it is anything else!

We were just unlucky this week is all, you both picked very well

Not sure to be honest Lakey. In recent weeks we''ve seen France go down at 1/100 and Real Madrid at 1/20. This week''s other banana skins picked included Feyenoord at 1/5, PSG at 1/4 and Lyon at 1/3. If we''d had any of them instead of Charlton the result would have been the same. We have to have the luck to avoid the banana skins that occur each week. Over the last few weeks that hasn''t happened. When we win we get that luck and the win will be for all.

Just to tidy up the stats and tables. 37/48 (77%) had winning picks. Of the 34 games picked 22 won (65%). The difference between the two figures was due to 8 PUPs picking Man City. It was a good banker and Mr Angry picked it. Mr Angry ended up with 5/6 (83%) and like Lakey last week was so unlucky.
Wolfie and Purple a extended their perfect records to 8/8 and head our PUPs table : -
