Legend Iwan 30 Posted October 19, 2017 This thread has aged well. Be surprised if both Clarke and Glenn keep their FA roles following the parliamentary hearing yesterday: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-4992964/FA-apologises-Eni-Aluko-Drew-Spence.html
Jim Smith 2,317 Posted October 19, 2017 Whole thing is a complete shambles. The only vaguely positive thing you can say is that the investigation by the barrister now appears to have reached a sensible conclusion. Had it done so in the first place and Sampson been made to apologise this whole public farce could have been avoided. As it is they''ve lost a coach, paid out masses of uneccessary compensation to Aluko and Sampson (even before he probably sues them over his dismissal), no doubt divided the dressing room and two or three of the bigwigs have probably made their position at the FA untenable. All basically because they tried to cover their a**es rather than deal properly with what were ultimately some clumsy, insensitive jokes.
Platonic 1 Posted October 19, 2017 The sad thing is that several people will still feel that Sampson is the one to pity following this debacle. Hopefully this can lead to some positive change at the top of the FA, as the way they conducted themselves yesterday and throughout this affair was, frankly, embarrassing.
