Bill 1,788 Posted October 18, 2017 A fine group of ''youngsters'' we now have. The likes of Cantwell are now deemed ready to step up. Godfrey and Adams who are both up there with him are due back in Jan, as is Toffolo (Doncaster). Though as with Raggett their loan might be extended.Raggett likewise can also join us in Jan, back from Lincoln.Others like Jamail Lewis have shown they are ready to step up, whilst there are a few more in the U23''s who show promise.whether they are make it into first team regulars is another matter, but it shows theat the club is planning well ahead. And how much have this cost comared to say, a PL journeyman who is not really that committed and can''t wait to head down thw A11 as soon as the final whistle is blownAnd Shrewsbury are top of LI so those three must be doing something right - and the club knew where best to send them as well
Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted October 19, 2017 Carlton is doing okay, although 2nd choice striker I think. It is Godfrey who is the one really making a name for himself at Shrewsbury though. Their fans say he is integral to their success and are desperate to keep hold of him beyond January. Could be a ready made replacement for Tettey when he leaves Norwich.Morris has a lot of promise, but for strikers of his type - the strong, back to goal type, they usually peak later in their careers. Have a feeling we won''t see much of him in a Norwich shirt in the future.
Bill 1,788 Posted October 19, 2017 I suspect that may well be the future of many of the youngsters. How many of the FA Youth Cup winners have ''made it'' ? Toffolo looks to have been on the fringe for a while now.I think our aim now is more in line with finding players in their late teens then developing them from there. Something Cat 1 makes an awful lot easier.
