QPR face £58m FFP fine

If it was Rochdale or Wycombe then the dogs of war would be unleashed but I agree there will be some leniency.

Good! Wind them up. It all started during their premier league stint with their stupidity spending.

It''s the second time in recent years QPR have cheated their way to promotion. In the 2010-11 season they were only fined for fielding a player they knew was ineligible when the obvious penalty was a points deduction. It didn''t matter to us, because we went up in second place, but it deprived another club of the chance to get to the Premier League. With any luck this fine, or a good proportion of it, will stick. From memory Bournemouth have acknowledged they broke FFP, but only by about six million pounds.

"But club chief executive Lee Hoos told the QPR podcast: “I don’t

think there is any worry about the owners heading for the exit door any

time soon.

“They are still very committed to the club. They have a lot invested

in the club, not just in terms of capital but emotionally as well.”

"The business model going forward is about producing players. You’re not

going to produce players if you don’t have the right facilities to get

them out there."

"However, in terms of running the club] I don’t think you will see

changes. We have started down the road we needed to get to ages ago.

“For us, it is about maintaining that course, because we are heading in the right direction.

“It’s about being a  self-sustainable football club. Our goal has

always been to have a self-sustainable club that can put out a team that

can compete in every match.”

So while our fans yearn for rich owners like QPR, those self same owners yearn to be self-sustainable just like us.

You couldn''t make it up. [:D]

The efl won’t have the balls to go through with it, a fine of a couple of million and a smack on the wrist is all that will happen

No sign so far of a lack of guts.As far as I can see the only recourse QPR have now is to try a civil action, hoping the same legal arguments will get a different response. That could happen, but it would probably require QPR to show that the rationale for behind the guilty verdict was flawed or unfair, because there seems no doubt the owners wrote off 60m in loans.
